The Situation in Iran

Post by skt239 »

Hello Gents,

I looked around and didn't see this posted anywhere. Also if its in the wrong place, please move or delete...

I was wondering what everyone thinks about the current situation in Iran. How do you think the US should respond? What do you think about the opposition? Also, how does everyone feel about engaging Iran? We are having the same discussion over at the TFL and I found it to be very well informed and insightful.

Lets here your opinons...

IMO the issue in Iran is a non-starter. We should be talking about N Korea. I say stop the ship, board it by force, then let Ill Kim make the next move.

As for Iran, we must be thankful we still have the 2nd Amendment and make sure we keep it. I truly feel for the people but think its a real tar-baby situation for the US. Just my $0.02.

We are damned if we do respond, and damned if we don't. The screwballs running Iran are just as crazy as the one that's running N Korea. Both would provoke an attack just to give themselves an excuse to attack us. Not to mention that if we ever attacked Iran, every Muslim country in the Middle East would join them against the U.S. Think gas prices are high now?. You ain't seen nothing yet.

I say let Iran duke it out. The young people there have been on the internet enough to know what life is like in other parts of the world and that they are repressed beyond imagination. They're tired of it, and they see an opening now to make some changes. It's not going to be easy, but hopefully the people of Iran can take control of their country and get things moving in the right direction from a human rights perspective and from a world stage perspective.

I agree we should stand by but let our feelings be known,, their are a hell of a lot of other countries out there who need to weigh in on on this thing too..We can;t be the cops for the whole world, The little man in N Korea is the guy to be watching,,Anyone who makes threats that they will wipe you out bears paying attention to,, Although I am willing to bet if he did press the button there would be more than one response from other nuclear nations and North Korea could be the one "wiped out"

+1 That should be first on the agenda rather than who is who in Iran.

My thoughts precisely. I really feel for those folk in Iran, but IMO that's a red herring being played by the liberal media and the White House. The real problem is in North Korea. I'll say it again - I think we should stop the ship, board it by force, and let Ill Kim make the next move. Our friends in South Korea might appreciate a new parking lot for all those Hyundais they produce.

7.... thats the magic number of illegal missle launches by North Korea today, the fourth of July. Our newly selected president, has had no response as of yet. I doubt he will. Unless of course one hits Hawaii. I really think our nation is past the point of no return. I guess we will be celebrating dependance day next year at this time.

I suppose I should not have posted the last post without at least saying something about Iran and the recent turmoil in that oasis, ok, I wish the american people had the stones that some of the Iranians showed last week.
