Hate to say it but I'm not a fan of sending our folks in, not under this administration. They'll have our guys drop leaflets instead of bombs. If troops are sent they wont be allowed to carry loaded weapons or even ammo. I say let them duke it out and if we really feel compelled to do anything after that we simply go in, clean up, declare victory, and claim all the oil.

Ugh not again, everyone should just butt out and leave Libya to its own devices.

Khadaffi must be getting senile, or at least his memory has departed. I on the other hand remember 2 of my beloved F-14 Tomcats from VF-41 shooting down two Libyian Su-22's in 1981 then 2 Tomcats from the the Kennedy shot down a Libyian Mig-23 in 1989. We on the Ike relieved the Kennedy in March of 89 and shortly after arriving on station went down to cross the "Line of Death" . As I recall, There were a few "encounters" but no kills. I still have the news papers from that 1981 action as it was about the time I signed my delayed entry contract to join the Navy. I don't remember what year but didn't we dropped some bombs on on of his tents missing him and and killing his daughter ? Apparently it's time for his 25 year ass-whoopin.

This Their Civil War and the U.N. and the U.S. should stay out of it.
The only reason we are getting involved is the Oil! Let them fight it out.

Would you feel the same if you were one of the revolutionaries? Lets not France gave us a helpful push. I'm pretty sure we only get a small supply of oil from them.

Of course it's for the oil. Don't people realize that the world runs on oil and that disruptions in the flow of oil affect every part of our lives?

Like the gasoline prices approaching $4.00? Like the cost of food increasing? Like the winter heating bills going up? Oil and its byproducts are involved in just about everything we use and consume. It is in our national interest, until there is a truly viable alternative, to make certain that the flow of oil continues.

Don't like that? Do something about it, like work for self-sufficiency by using our own oil and gas resources, by working toward alternatives such as nuclear power generation and solar, wind and tide power production -- understanding that these solutions are years, maybe decades away.

In the meantime, the flow of oil from all areas must be protected.

President Barack Obama demanded Friday that Gadhafi halt military assaults against civilians and said that if the Libyan leader did not stand down the United States would join in military action against him.

Obama said the United States would not deploy ground troops in Libya or use force beyond protecting people.

Lets see what the "organizer-in-chief" actually does.

Indeed, but you have to refer to the timeline of events. The Liar in Chief said this AFTER Ghadafi indicated there would be a cease fire and oil dropped $2 per barrel for the April contract.

It will be interesting to hear the whining from Code Pink and the other dirty smelly hippies now that Obama has his own war for oil.

Better start photoshopping those old BusHitler signs...

Nah, I'd be real surprised if we did that. They just moved up the deployment as a show of force. I'm pretty sure that particular ARG was already in "Ready" status so moving it up didn't really change much.

Butting is what we do. It's the American way. It always has been and it always will be. It doesn't matter if the reds or the blues are in office. Hell you can't even have a fist fight outside without SOMEONE butting in to "protect" the innocent. However, that said. Someone here must think it would be wrong to watch a "person in power" hold on to that power by simple brut force. It's hardly a "civil war" when it's a "government" killing it's people who have little means to defend themselves just to keep them under thumb.

We'll see if Obama's War is as easy to get out of as it was to get into. The Dems are already babbling about impeachment as the most transparent administration in history slowly circles the drain.
