Showdown in the Middle East: Iran makes bold move
This news is troubling to say the least. It's times like these that we need a strong leader in the White House.

Guys, if you watch Glen Beck on Fox at 5pm every week day none of this would suprise you. He has insight in places we can't get to. As for the crisis in the middle east, it will only get worse over the next 6 months. Too many hands in the cookie jar over there and no watchdogs to guard it.
Re: Showdown in the Middle East: Iran makes bold move
Why is this a "provocation"? this is a matter between 2 sovereign nations, Israel is not even concerned.

Re: Showdown in the Middle East: Iran makes bold move
Iranian warships floating anywhere except in the Persian gulf is provocation IMHO...and even so if they are hovering in the Straights of Hormuz...regarding the 2 sovereign nations...it is everyone's concern if Israel is involved. They dont mess around and sooner or later screwing around like this is gonna press their button. The big concern is that they will then press their own button...jim100 wrote:Why is this a "provocation"? this is a matter between 2 sovereign nations, Israel is not even concerned.

The Egyptians, prior to the overthrow of their government, refused to allow Iranian warships to transit the Suez Canal. It had been like this for many years. Now that the Egyptian military is in charge, they have given the green flag to allow the Iranians to transit the canal.

IMHO some of those places should have been made smoldering craters a long time ago.. This cat footing around is just making them bolder to do something really stupid! Then we'll end up sending our troops and money to fight their damn war for them while they tell us how they hate our guts and that Allah is PO'd for one stupid thing or another,,

What I'm getting at is this, the USA uses the Suez and so does every other nation that has a merchant marine or a navy: so why can't Iran use it also?
PS. Israel is the only middle eastern nation that has Nuclear weapons: so when they say that Israel is in danger of obliteration.....................................don't believe it.
PPS. let the Iranians have nuclear capabilities so as to have a mutual respect like between the USSA...er...... uh... USA and Russia/China.

To say we need a strong leader at times like this is a understatement. What we have is a weak, muslim sympathizer. No intelligent person can deny that now. Obama has at every single turn , defied all logic and reason in every single matter regarding foriegn policy. He has actually done things and said things to hurt this country and its standing Worldwide at every opportunity. Anyone who still holds out "hope" that this traitor to America is simply an imbecile with no experience, is simply an idiot him/herself. It was reported that he has not contacted half of his cabinet , EVER! but is in contact regularly with his radical communist friends... He should be removed from office immediately.

Especially when we tie the hand behind their back...you know, the one they would use to press the button...IMO this is by far the biggest reason we have been so close to Israel...hold them in check because of all that oil. Most Americans automatically assume its because of religious ties...I dont think so.allingeneral wrote:Unfortunately, having nuclear weapons does not put some invisible shield over a nation that protects them from annihilation.jim100 wrote:PS. Re: Showdown in the Middle East: Iran makes bold move
Nukes work against other forms of destruction similar in scale such as other nukes or biological. We can't legitimately nuke Afghanistan because Osama got some guys to fly planes into our buildings. Likewise, Israel can't use their nukes (if they have them which there is some debate about) unless attacked in kind. That is a small condolence if the nut job in Iran decides that getting nuked in return is ok. Remember MAD only works when both sides fear retaliation. As much as us and the Soviets were ready to push the button in response, both sides were genuinely concerned about starting it.allingeneral wrote:Unfortunately, having nuclear weapons does not put some invisible shield over a nation that protects them from annihilation.jim100 wrote:PS. Perhaps not but none the less it still puts Israel in a position of grossly distorted power especially considering that they always have their "America" stick to beat the Arabs with if they don't comply with their demands if the threat of military occupation doesn't work. If Iran had nukes that would even out the balance of power in that region much like at the end of WW2 when the USA was the only power with nukes (albeit only a few) the balance of power was grossly distorted................until the soviets and Chinese got nukes.allingeneral wrote:Unfortunately, having nuclear weapons does not put some invisible shield over a nation that protects them from annihilation.jim100 wrote:PS. @ zephyp I don't think that religion has anything to do with it. If you look at the US Government you will see that there are very powerful special interest groups that lobby very powerfully even if its not legal.
To find out who these are look at the Balfour document which was drawn up just as England was about to loose the First world warhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balfour_De ... on_of_1917

If Israel is about to be forced into the sea or defeated as a nation, they wont hesitate to use their nuclear weapons and any other weapons of mass destruction they may have.

Re: Showdown in the Middle East: Iran makes bold move
Detente, Mutually Assured Destruction or whatever other name you choose for it only works if both sides are scared of destruction. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran has stated his Nation's (and all good muslim's should have that same) goal is to wipe Israel off the face of the earth. If you are not scared of death, because it is an improvement over the life you lead in the $hithole you now live in, you do not fear death nor care about the possibility of it. The difference between Israel and some, not all of it's neighbors, is the use of Nukes is a last resort. For Iran's present theocracy, it would be a first choice if he had it.jim100 wrote:Perhaps not but none the less it still puts Israel in a position of grossly distorted power especially considering that they always have their "America" stick to beat the Arabs with if they don't comply with their demands if the threat of military occupation doesn't work. I think it was best put by a friend of mine , when he said "There will never be peace in the Middle East, until muslims love their children more than they hate Israel." Just look at the actions in the Hamas controlled Gaza strip, they smuggle weapons, rockets and bomb making materials into the area. How much better could their life be if they focused on sneaking in food, clean water and building materials? Some of the Palestinians look across the fence and see how good a life Israelis have and think that should be them. The thing is they aren't working toward it.

Also realize that Israel is only around 100 miles deep from east to west at the widest point, and as little as 30 or 35 (near as I can tell from eyeballing a map). Once they are invaded, they have precious little time to pull the trigger or they'll already be butt-deep in the Mediterranean by the time the hammer drops. Even older tanks can go 30 miles an hour if I'm not mistaken.

Ahh but perhaps they are, would life be worth living if you are a slave? would we be happy here in America if martial law were declared? with no freedom of speech no right to keep arms, dependant on the Government for our every needs? now ask your self this if you had the opportunity to boot out your oppressors what would you do? would you sneak in food or the means to destroy your oppressor so you can grow your own without most of it being taken away?grumpyMSG wrote: Detente, Mutually Assured Destruction or whatever other name you choose for it only works if both sides are scared of destruction.
