Ok, 3 photos of items that do the same thing differently. Not looking for specific calibers but what these items do and what the difference is between them.

head space gauges
top one is a go gauge, middle is a field gauge, and bottom is a no-go gauge

Headspace gages yes but I have no idea whether they are go, no-go, or field gages. Now that I go back and look at them I think they are all no-go gages. Headspace is measured differently depending on the cartridge type (not caliber but type). That's what I'm looking for, what type of cartridge/case do they headspace? The calibers are .30-30, 220 Swift, and .300 Win Mag. Headspace is measured differently for each of these cartridge types, asking yourself why should give you the answer.

Rimmed, head and shoulders, and belted magnum are the 3 types I'm aware of. And I believe the ones you have here are go, field, and no-go.

That's what I was looking for; rimmed, rimless, and belted magnum. They make the headspace measurements in different ways.
Other than what's written on them or having them in your hand to measure, there is no way to determine whether one is go, no-go, or field since the only difference is the critical measurements they make. For instance, the rimmed gage (top) will will have a rim (the part that is silver in color) that varies in thickness for go, no-go, and field.

Here's a tougher one unless you've been around certain circles.

Re: Name that firearms related item

What did this come from?
The thing that gives it away is the tiny spring.... you know, the one that likes to pop out on reassembly and then you spend half an hour cussing at a tiny spring as you try to work it back in place....herohog wrote:Yup!
