I think anyone who is going to carry a gun should at least have a minimum of understanding of what that responsibility represents,, THe current system to me is sufficient but If it goes Constitutional I will support that without any objections.,, Scott .good find ,, I had let that one slip right by me..

I agree, an understanding of the responsibility is important. I'm leery though, of the gubment's definition of those responsibilities.VBshooter wrote:I think anyone who is going to carry a gun should at least have a minimum of understanding of what that responsibility represents,, THe current system to me is sufficient but If it goes Constitutional I will support that without any objections.,, Scott .good find ,, I had let that one slip right by me..

They do have that tendency to put someone or other in charge of things they know nothing of and then load it up so overkill it can;t funtion correctly,,, Fortunatley here, the State of VA has enough brains to let the private market handle that training. We can thank God we don;t have Washington DC or New York style laws.....Now they are overkill to the point of being ludricous in spite of its intention

so do you find it necessary for a test before someone can practice religion? this sounds like a great idea to me. how about needing to take a test before you can be free from unreasonable searches? some government agency telling you when you can and can't talk to a lawyer? Do the words "I'm from the government and here to help" make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside? Maryland maybe just right for youVBshooter wrote:I think anyone who is going to carry a gun should at least have a minimum of understanding of what that responsibility represents,, THe current system to me is sufficient but If it goes Constitutional I will support that without any objections.,, Scott .good find ,, I had let that one slip right by me..

I applied for my CHP in spotsylvania county ( fredersickburg area). They do not require fingerprints. just $50 and self addressed stamp envelope. it's been 19 days. Still haven't received it. i was told 3 weeks (we'll see about that).
