Check out this nifty tool, seems like it would be great for LEO.

Since it's only .223, the pointy thing might work better for breaking glass :hysterical:

If you want an easy way to break glass in a controlled manner, an automatic center punch is a whole lot more compact and more cost effective. Just push against the glass until it goes pop and then clear the broken glass out of the way.
You just have to ask yourself, is he telling you the truth based on knowledge and experience or spreading internet myths?

Yep, they do work well for that. But if a LEO approaches a car after a pursuit he can keep his carbine up and pointed at the suspect. No need for a separate tool or taking his hand off the rifle. This could be useful on a handgun rail also but it takes away the ability to mount a light.

Lots of neutered ARs with no lug. Besides the carbide tip really makes it much easier.

People under estimate common car windows. The pointy and harder the object is the easier it will be to break a window. You can't break one with a hand, nor can you easily, even with metal, break it without a lot of force. Unless the metal is hardened and really pointed.

estwing makes wonderful hammers. A little duck tape and my estwing masonary hammer plus an ar would work quite well.
then again if I'm busting out the duct-tape I might as well get ambitious and mount a harpoon to an ar. Break the glass and 'poon a suspect in one easy move. Probably against the law though...
