CHP Time frame?

Post by smoke »

Good morning folks,

I had a question, more along the lines of a poll, this morning.

How long did it take for you to recieve your CHP after your application was submitted?

I am curious.

Thank you much and take care!

It took me 8 or 9 weeks. However, it's largely dependent on your local courts. For example, I live in Albemarle County and it took me ~2 months. However, a buddy of mine lives in Fluvanna, and he got his in less than a month. So, YMMV.

It was 35 days for me in VA Beach. I hear that it's much faster these days.

Can't remember exactly, but seems it was only about 2 or 3 weeks here in Virginia Beach. Thought it would take longer. The whole process was very simple.

43 days to when Hampton mailed mine. They mailed mine to some other guy and his to me. They then called and left a message on my voice mail saying to bring it back in and they would straighten it out. I had no faith in them to be able to send the correct permit to the correct person so I called the guy up and exchanged our permits. It probably would have taken another month to have accomplished that large of a feat. He was only a minute or two from the house so it was easy.
