The inaction of the men in that room illustrates the problem with Americans today. They are, as a group, meek and unwilling to face danger, they hope for the "authorities" to come help them. It's the same "progressive" mindset that gives us big brother laws against toys with fast food meals. What the woman did was ineffective, I would have chosen a pen to the neck, but I wonder if she foolishly expected the men to jump in. The goblin turned his back and there was a man just sitting there. That's one of the points in the encounter that should have been met with extreme violence and decisive action. I'm no mall ninja, nor do I consider myself "special forces", but I try to keep a mindset that I will not be idle while my life is threatened, or the life of a loved one. (My son knows I would rather chance shooting him by accident, than let him be taken and tortured by some lunatic.) I can't go so far as so say the men in that room are not "men", but they have been lulled into submissiveness by society today. I don't for a second believe the shooter had no intention to harm anyone. The only reason he didn't hit them (despite his wife's claim) is he couldn't use the gun. His first shot when low and left; an obvious flinch, and his second shot was an AD into the floor.
Oh, yea, that "security" guy? He did a "peakaboo" into the room early on, and then ran to his car for his vest and more ammo. He's a tool and should find another line of work. The fight was on and he left. His job is security and if he didn't come prepared, he should have fought with what he had. The gunman had his pistol on the superintendent for a good three seconds before firing, yet the guard was in the back waited until after he fired to shoot.
The only bright side is some of the lamestream press is covering this. This incident shows the fallacy of "gun control" laws. Gun free zone, convicted felon, laws against brandishing, laws against hostage taking.... Worked out well, eh?

"Though defensive violence will always be 'a sad necessity' in the eyes of men of principle, it would be still more unfortunate if wrongdoers should dominate just men."
