I thought it was something like that... looks like the muzzle of the old WWII anti-aircraft guns.

Re: Name that firearms related item
It's just how we've been doing it from the start.
I was thinking flash hider but not sure for what. We've never used one on our M2s and it looks too big (too much hardware) for anything else. Oh, well.

recoil absorber?
Re: Name that firearms related item
If it is, I dunno.
I deal with M240Bs.
M60s were out of the service before I got in.
It reminded me a little of the M240 bolt but unless they redesigned 'em, I know it's not.
I'll stick to my "or..."

I think it's an M60 bolt. It is a bolt, but I can't be sure what it's from. Since it doesn't have a handle it can't be from a bolt action rifle, it has to come from automatic or semi. The M60 had a cap similar to the one on that one but I can't recall the number of lugs, been a while.
M60's are out of the service now? damn!

I give up on this game. My guesses aren't even good guesses. lol
Being an ex-Navy guy, I didn't get to play with the big guns. Ask me about an SM-2 missile and I might be able to get a little closer

They aren't guns, they are weapons! This is my weapon, this is my gun, this is for fighting, this is for fun.

Re: Name that firearms related item
The Navy I worked for didn't have weapons or guns. All they had was sailboats and YP's. But then Annapolis is really just a glorified yacht club, isn't it? Who needs any kind of armament there.
