Bulk Ammo
Bulk Ammo
Anybody know any good internet sources for bulk ammo?
It would be for the range so I'm not to particular, even Military Ballistics Industries or BVAC re-manufactured would do at a good price
Basically, I'll be looking for 1000 round each of
38 Special
40 S&W
and depending on what the wife eventually gets either
9mm or 380 acp

Re: Bulk Ammo
Check out www.all-in-general.com too. I hear that the owner of that place might cut you a deal on bulk purchases.
Re: Bulk Ammo
If you want inexpensive .38 Spl ammo, NoVA Armamant also has it for about $11/box (of 50). For 9mm, I'd just go to Wal-Mart. For .380, I'd get set up for reloading.
Actually, that's a good idea no matter which round you're shooting. I reload all of my .38 Special.
Another source is Mastercast Bullet Co. They reload ammo commercially, like Georgia Arms, but for handgun cartridges only. Their prices are actually pretty good, especially if you're trading in brass. Their ammo is what's sold at the NRA Range, so I know it's good.

FYI: I've shot 2000 rounds of Brown and Silver Bear through my USP with 0 problems. Pretty sweet for $8/box

Excellent!
I knew this forum would come through big time!
A lot of great sites. I'll be able to get stocked up!
Cowboy, I suppose that setting up for reloading is a good idea. I'm a little apprehensive about doing it, but I suppose I can find some training somewhere, and a list of needed equipment & supplies.
Definitely something to setup in my workshop when we move to the Southwest in a few years.

I was a little apprehensive about it too, at first. But I did it. It's actually not hard at all, and I now have ZERO worries about ammunition supplies. Oh, and I save a boatload of money per round, too, especially since one of my favourite rounds is .45 Colt.
If you'd like to see it done, I've got some free-download vids on it at my Web site. They're expressly designed for the new reloader, and matter of fact, one video series features a reloading teaching session. Have a look, and then, if you'd like to talk more about it, PM me. There's also an "Ammo and Reloading" section of this board.

Re: Bulk Ammo
Hey, I've heard that, too! And if you order enough ammo, I've heard that guy will cut a break on shipping, as well - and shipping lead is expensive! But that's just what I've heard.allingeneral wrote:Check out http://www.all-in-general.com too. I hear that the owner of that place might cut you a deal on bulk purchases.

Those search engines are good, but if you are looking for SD loads, they don't usually index the LE ammo. E.g. www.tds-us.comNickW wrote:Yes Chasboo00, you are the man thanks.
You can get a 50 round box for not much more than the 20 rounders and it is legal to own in VA.

Re: Bulk Ammo
My following comments are geared to handgun ammo. I've used TDS before -- good outfit. But, I think Ammunition-to-Go has both more variety and better pricing for defensive ammo, especially as of late. Palmetto State Armory is another good source. I like TDS though as they are very pro military. TDS used to offer a pretty good military discount -- maybe they will bring it back and I'll use them again.gunderwood wrote: Those search engines are good, but if you are looking for SD loads, they don't usually index the LE ammo. Of the ammo search engines, Ammoseek leaves the others in the dust IMO. It lets you refine your search by bullet weight and manufacturer and will find deals on those LE 50-round boxes too.
