What was up at the RIC Raceway Gunshow?!

Post by Reverenddel »

It was EMPTY, both in people, and vendors!!

If the C&E gunshow folks don't straighten up the venues, they're gonna start losing folks.

For one, you cannot find better facilities than the rundown "Showplace"?

Two, you can't organize the gunshows so that RIC has more vendors?

I paid $8 to walk around, and talk to friends... I made a couple "pity purchases" from vendors I know personally, but most of the vendors were 10-20% higher than the gunshops, and weren't coming down off any prices. Most of the dealers didn't have anything I haven't seen before, and there were very few people buying any firearms whatsoever.

The fact the organizers for the gunshows are HUSBAND AND WIFE! C'mon! C'MON! You have GOT to do better! It's getting to the point that I would rather buy online, or local, than waste my time with a gunshow. :coffee:

I was there all day Sunday. We had two tables there selling our private sale firearms. Didnt do too bad. There were probably 10 vacant tables at the rear of the building. There was no line at opening, but people started filing in about 10:00. It wasnt a horrible show but it could of been much much better. Sure wasnt what it was two years ago !!

The Raceway show always sucks. It's amazing they still get as many vendors as they do.

I agree about the Showplace, it's a dump. Unfortunately I don't know of any better facilities in the area that would be amenable to having an evil gun show.

It's a shame the Doswell show didn't catch on. The facility is tops.

You know, there is convention space near Virginia Center Commons... and it's fairly large, and nice.... It's located near the hotels, so it's carpeted, and such. Went to a wedding there.... Maybe it's TOO high classed, or expensive!

Plus? With Greentop, GanderMountain, Bass Pro, Dick's Sporting Goods, and a spattering of gunsmiths around... THAT would be a PRIME area for a GUNSHOW though!
