New member from Williamsburg. Collect Colt, Winchester and U.S. Military firearms. Partial to the 1911 and the 1911a1. Got a Colt series 70 I would like to get a custom finish on. Anybody know of someone who does this locally or in Va? Thanks

You just have to ask yourself, is he telling you the truth based on knowledge and experience or spreading internet myths?

Welcome aboard, rinkus
You might try creating a new topic with a descriptive title and posting your question in the Handguns forum - You'll probably get more input that way. People tend to view an intro post and just say "Hi and welcome" instead of reading deeper into the post.
