Re: QSC Highpower & F-Class Weekend
All,
We have a change in program for our upcoming Matches on the 6th & 7th of November.
The Marine Scout/Sniper School has requested Range 4 on the 6th of November for a presentation and shoot for a Marine Sniper that was wounded in combat in Afghanistan. This Marine is going to be presented with a sniper rifle and given the opportunity to zero it at 100 yards and then fire at 1000 yards. He is also going to be presented with a plaque from the Quantico Shooting Club designating him "Permenant Guest of Honor" that will allow him to shoot with the Club, for free. His wounds were extensive, he lost both of his legs and a part of one hand.
With that said, we are going to have 3 Individual 1000 yard matches on Saturday, the 6th, with registration beginning at 10:00am after the Ceremony. The Ceremony is scheduled for 0900 and we expect to have the range available for our use NLT 1200 (noon). All are invited to attend the ceremony in support of a true Hero.

Below is the text of an email I recieved explaining it...
On Saturday 6 November 2010 at about 0900, Cpl Howell will be presented with a sniper rifle on range 4. Originally, he had ordered it for himself and had intended on paying for it himself. Due to his bravery under fire in Afghanistan, and the wounds that he sustained, his command is paying for the rifle, though he doesn't know that yet. Currently, he is in Bethesda Naval Hospital recovering from his wounds. He has lost both of his legs and part of his hand.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
