so, Cantor is extremely busy that he's missed all public debates with his oponents. But he is not too busy to show up on Daily Show and have a good time according to his own words (on Facebook):

"Had a great conversation last night with Jon Stewart on The Daily Show."

Tell me again why you would vote for AWOL CantOR Wont ?

We are known by the company we keep. Cantor's cozying up to the Hollywood liberal crowd speaks volumes about his true ambitions in Washington.

Or hit them both - Floyd and Tammy - on Facebook with a message

House Minority Whip Eric Cantor, R-7th, said this morning that people know where he stands on issues and that he won't debate his opponents and give them a "platform for a food fight."

I'm now on the list of volunteers for Mr. Bayne's campaign. I am disgusted with hypocritical D's and R's (like Mr. Cantor) who are only interested in keeping their power.

I dont recall hearing Floyd refer to Bible or any religion's document in any of his debates, or conversations with people. That to me confirms that - no matter what religion he follows or not - he will follow the US Constitution in his position as federal elected representative.

Well, Jake. I have an answer for you, not sure you will like it. I know I did not like it, but my fielings about NRA were so low that they are not hurting.

The answer from NRA is -- they only give questionnaire to a party candidate from either R or D party. Since Floyd is running as independent, - in NRA's mind that makes him not worthy for you to know where he stands on 2A issues.

Talk about NRA being not involved in party politics. I will try to contact them one more time and get to their consience. I suggest you do the same - call 202 651 2560 and speak to either Ms. Savage or Mr. Jeff Freeman and ask them to send questionnaire to ALL CANDIDATES

That's disgusting. Only R or D candidates, eh? Not worthy of knowing where he stands 'cause he's an Independent, eh? You're right, I don't like it. The NRA are just driving me further and further away from them.

The selection of gun-related advocacy organizations is vanishingly small though, so there's not much in the way of alternatives...

Please dont limit your site to NRA only. GOA and VCDL are much more honest and efficient in Virginia.

Speaking of which -- just spoke with Jeff Freeman - a person who is responsible for elections/political stuff in NRA for Virginia. They sent the questionnaire to Floyd - TODAY 10/19. I asked him if he estimates that NRA will be able to turn around the answers and post the ratings on the website to allow people to make informed choice of candidate. He said, "we are not going to rate an independent" (his words, not mine).

Buttom line, NRA Board policy is only to rate party candidates "who have chance of winning" (his words, not mine). He then changed his words to "NRA rates legitimate candidates" (his words, not mine). I told him that Virginia Board of Elections considers Floyd Bayne a legitimate candidate and put him on the ballot. When I suggested that they change the policy and said that I am not a member - he said only NRA members vote for Board members, and only NRA members can let Board know what they think.

SOOOOO, if you are NRA Member (sorry for you money wasted) - and if you want to know where ALL candidates stand, please ask the Board to stop discrimination, stop picking "who has chance to win"

He did get very short with me once he found out I was not a member, I guess the courtesy only goes so far. My feelings are not hurt cause my expectation of NRA being fair was very low.

Once again, the lady from the Soviet Land is correct. There are other organizations. I'm already behind VCDL 100%, and GOA is another alternative for those who are getting increasingly disgusted with the NRA's machinations.

The leaders of the NRA seem to like claiming that they, and only they, can stop the anti-gunners from running rough-shod over our 2A-guaranteed rights. That's certainly not true. It just happens to have been around for longer, and the leadership members clearly have gotten too big for their britches. If people do start defecting from the NRA and going to, say, GOA, that would send Messrs. LaPierre, Cox, and Freeman a very strong message indeed.

So...if you're not happy with the NRA at this point, then we're back to that all-important question--the question that applies as much to them as it does Eric Cantor's power-hunger:

What are you going to DO about it?

GOA is all about advocating whatever Larry Pratt thinks is important. Guns are incidental much of the time. He's done a marvelous job of hoodwinking people into thinking otherwise, though, I have to hand him that. It's more useless than NRA.

I've actually met Larry Pratt. Personally, I don't much care for him. I didn't say GOA was the "best" choice, but rather another alternative.

That said, the NRA is really pushing me away from them, not only with their recent machinations, but with this attitude they're giving to candidates who aren't "D" or "R". They ought to be ashamed of themselves, because Floyd is the kind of candidate that they ought to be totally in love with! What're they smokin'?

Siding with only big player in the field (NRA) and discrediting everyone else is just as a progressive telling you that only federal govt can solve everyone's problems and desires. The state organizations are more efficient and more vocal. Just come to Virginia GA public hearing in 2011. NRA guy is quiet as if it is funerals. VCDL folks are all the action and movers.

To me, being American means being self-reliant, tossing out illusions and sticking to facts and truth, not trying to fit into any mold and definately not looking for a "big brother" to help and protect me.

I never thought about an NRA rep being at GA hearings, although it does make sense that there would be. I guess they need to be around to take credit after the VCDL does all the leg work.

The NRA might be the big dog in Virginia, but the VCDL still packs the big bite

NRA is a non-entity in Virginia politics. VCDL's what gets things done here.

Nationally, it's the NRA if you want to influence politics. SAF if you want to support court cases.
