School trip to Mosque ends with prayer to Allah

Post by TheGodfather »

Today, Americans for Peace and Tolerance released a video showing 6th graders from Wellesley, MA as they rise from prostrating themselves alongside Muslim men in a prayer to Allah while on a public school field trip to the largest mosque in the Northeast. Teachers did not intervene. Parents have not been told.

The video was taken inside the Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center – Boston’s controversial Saudi-funded mega-mosque – during a Wellesley Middle School social studies trip to the mosque, ostensibly taken to learn about the history of Islam first-hand. Yet the video reveals that the students are being blatantly mis-educated about Islam. A mosque spokesperson is seen teaching the children that in Mohammed’s 7th century Arabia women were allowed to vote, while in America women only gained that right a hundred years ago. This seems to be an increasingly recurring theme in American schools – the denigration of western civilization and the glorification of Islamic history and values. In fact, just recently, the American Textbook Council revealed that the New York State high school regents exam whitewashes the atrocities that occurred during the imperialistic Islamic conquest of Christian Byzantium, Persia, the African continent, and the Indian subcontinent, even as it demonizes European colonialism in South America.

The mosque spokesperson also taught the students that the only meaning of Jihad in Islam is a personal spiritual struggle, and that Jihad has historically had no relationship with holy war. As far as we know, the school has not corrected these false lessons.
And this isn't national news because.......

I'd love to see how this would play out if they spent an hour praying at a Christian church...end times prophecy fulfilled right before our eyes...

I'm confused. It seems that the end of times may be brought to us today by the Muslims, or perhaps genetically modified salmon. Well, just to be safe, I'd better not order fish for dinner and I'm leaving now to stock up on bacon. Bacon is to Muslims what garlic is to vampires, I'm told. :hysterical:

"Bacon is to Muslims what garlic is to vampires."

ROTFLMAO! And I have a plethora of politically incorrect similar phrases!

As to the event? I'm sure someone will have it come to light, and raise cane! Which they SHOULD! So where are they going next? Catholic Church? Because remember, the CATHOLIC CHURCH was the political structure at one point in Europe!

And that's HISTORY!

I'm all for freedom of religion, like many others here, we spent a good portion of our lives defending that and others. But for a school to pull that kind of BS behind the parents backs??? Well, it's a good thing it didn't happen this way while my son was in school. I guarantee the news would have been aware of it. The school administration would be "standing tall" in front of a judge for this mess.

Part of the problem in Amierican today is that you can't fix stupid.

The parents apparently signed permission slips allowing the kids to attend. It doesn't matter that they didn't think their would be prayer. They have no reason to be upset or complain since they knowingly and willing sent their kids into that environment. Parents like that would probably sign the same permission slip again tomorrow because they clearly have their head in the sand.

This is the equivalent of hiring a known crack dealer to babysit your child and then being upset when you find out your child did crack.

A complete lack of awareness and and self responsibility.

We went to many places of different faiths on school trips growing up - Buddhist, Shinto, Christian, Jewish, Muslim. We were taught tolerance. The difference is that we were not told to participate in any religious ceremony. We could if we wanted, but we were not required to do so. I very fondly remember trips to the Shinto and Buddhist temples and lighting incense; lighting candles in churches in Europe. In the former case, I was with my Japanese mother; in the latter, I was a teenager and I made my own free choice.

If this trip would have been to a Catholic church and a video showed the kids praying and/or making the sign of the cross this would happen: ACLU sues school district, teacher (and probably others in the school administration) would be fired.

I am a strong supporter of religious freedom but this crosses the line big time.

The difference between a libertarian and a left-left-liberal:

The former takes school children to a place of worship to educate them on different faiths, and then allows the parents or the individual to make his or her own choice to participate.
The latter takes them to a place of worship and forces them to participate under the guise of political correctness, and removes choice from the equation since the System Knows Best.

To be clear, I have friends and family of different beliefs and religions. I am very tolerant (part of my personal belief system), but you will never see me kowtow in the direction of Mecca.

Wow! That really is shocking, if it was even suggested to be I wouldn't have gone! I really am rather surprised that this hasn't been picked up by Fox or something.

The Muslims, Jews and Christians all share the same roots, branches of the same tree.
I've heard it said that God does not really care what name you know him by, as long as you know and worship him. I have a shooting buddy who refers to God as George, because his 'Born Again' first wife was forever referring to God this and God that, and he's sick of hearing it. So when he prays he prays to George.
The name and the manner that you pray is immaterial as long as you pray and ask for guidence and forgiveness.

I don't see that we have a disagreement.

PS
Something crossed my mind after closing the post. The Baptists are sure that the Catholics are going to hell and the Methodists are sure the Episcopalians are going to hell and the Pres. are sure the Mormans are going to hell....etc.
The Jews just want to be left alone it's only the Muslims and Christians that are trying to impose their particular flavor of saving souls.
I operate under the principal that I avoid all organizations that have dogma, heirarchy and stained glass.
