I need a reer rifle for my son-in-law

Post by popgunn »

I am looking for a good deer rifle for my son-in-law. Wood stock, mid-cal. (.270, .280, .308, 30-06 etc.). Bolt action, w/ scope. He likes my rifles, but I'm left handed and he's not. Looking to spend $1000.00 or less - less is better. No. Va. area seller preferred as we need to see the gun first. Contact me @ 571-337-7207

Sorry about the "reer" rifle - I reviewed my post, but didn't look at the heading. Quess I'll have to teach him the "Texas heart shot" now. He is a former Marine and liked my Rem. 700 -'06 (l.h.) and my .280 "mountain rifle" and the only rt. hand bolt gun that i own. ( I save it for a back up for guys in camp that need a rifle) I bought it because it had a real pretty piece of wood and shoots great. Anyhooo . . . We found a Rem. 700 VTR in .308, put a 3-9 Leopould on it and shot it this morning - WOW - CLEANED IT -ran three thru it, cleaned it again and put 5 in a little over an inch at 100yd.

Well tried to fix it for ya, but it came out "D(r)eer" only on the first post so I changed it back...
