It appears I have offended you. It was not my intent. To quote one of my heroes of the silver screen, Popeye the Sailor Man, "I yams what I yams and that's all that I yams".

If this site is for crusaders only, I believe I have trespassed. I can only come as I am, an interested party.

I'm rather fond of full strength civil, human and constitutional rights. The concentrated versions I'm looking at and understand are under development don't appeal to me. There will be no question in anyones mind that I am not interested in swallowing anything less than full strength rights when it served to me. I just don't find it necessary to be real radical about the rejection of it. I find some folks get caught up focusing on the radical reaction, rather than on the rights. Anyone, anywhere can depend on my support in their right to self defense. That support may come in the form of a check, my presence at a meeting, encouragement on a forum, and if necessary, at their side with a weapon.

In the mean time, I'm sorting out the benefits of intimidating people who now or never will pose a threat to me by presenting a weapon in places that a weapon might be viewed as out of place.

I don't carry a weapon to make a statement. Fashion, political or otherwise. I carry one for protection. Kinda like the vitamins and supplements I take. For my health. I don't get in anybody's face about that, either.

I hope I find a thread to further discuss this in, as it would be an embarrassment to be booted out of here in my Introduction thread.

I think you're safe - they haven't booted me yet.

I pretty much carry CC exclusively, as well. Similar to you, I don't carry to make any sort of statement. Though, I do think it would be pretty funny to Beaddazzle my Glock for open carry. That would be a b*tchin' fashion statement, I think.

There are many who share your views; I'd say you're at no risk of being booted.

It's sometimes easy to forget that we're all on the same side. I'm not going to ridicule anyone for carrying whatever they want, however they want. I'd expect the same from everyone here... what I will do is attempt to point out misconceptions, sometimes ones that are propagated by those that will.

P.S. chfaunce: Just don't do this: Image

?

This is a pretty open forum, I've found. Granted, the members are diverse and maybe some minds aren't as open as others, but the forum itself is pretty open.

This isn't a potential suicide situation or anything is it? I mean, I'll strap on a hog leg and hit
the Midway Mini Market / Taxidermy and Tanning Salon if it brings back meaning and purpose to forum. Really. I know about causes. I had a girl friend once that was with PETA....It wasn't my primary attraction to her, but I came to realize that, uh, things went better if I was supportive, if ya know what I mean.

We're all glad you decided to join our little 'ol gun forum, jtrider. But me thinks it's time to start a new discussion or something.
