Was meeting a buddy at TGIFridays in Roanoke at Valley View mall and right behind the hostess they have a small sign (maybe 3" X 4") that says "No firearms allowed at any time" and has two small drawings of a firearm with a red circle and slash through the circle. Will not be going there anymore.

Sounds about right. TGI Fridays is one of the better known anti establishments. Their loss I guess.

Was in Arlington recently and went to Ballston Common mall. They are posted.
I looked on their website and could not find anything so I emailed and received this reply.

Thank you for your comment.

Do to our Code Of Conduct and the mall is private property, only police officers are allowed to bring firearms onto Ballston Common Mall property.

Add Jarrod's Jewelry. Big sign on the front door. I'm sorry, if I'm carrying an $11k diamond ring with me, do you think I shouldn't be carrying? And no guards there, either.

Shoot, $11k for a ring at Jarrod's? They know you've already been robbed so there's really no point... :hysterical: (Sorry - had to do it. The retail markup on jewelry is disgusting).

Sounds like overprivledged suburbanites who watch too many R rated movies are trying to control things that scare them.

Naaah...you got it wrong. The criminals up here always follow the law and respect no gun signs...the progressive socialists understand that quite well...its the biggest reason we have a 0% crime rate around places like Springfield Mall...

Not to mention the obvious fact that if the robber saw people with guns of their own, I would GUARANTEE that he would go elsewhere to find an easier mark.
You'd seriously risk legal trouble or being shot to protect the petty cash drawer of the crappy chain restaurant that charges you $12.95 or a plate of defrosted fat and sodium?

Banks I kinda understand. They are paranoid and to them anyone with a gun is a potential robber. BUT, they still need an armed guard of their own to actually enforce this rule.
As stated many times, criminals dont care about the law, thats why they're criminals. If he doesnt see a guard inside and a sign posted out front saying "no guns" then the place just made itself a nice fat target.
The one in Manassas has no such policy (yet) but they also have no guards.
