Every Day Carry, what do you pack daily?

Post by OlBluesmoke »

Though I don't carry my handgun daily I do carry a "tactical folder" lol...aka a pocket knife. Here's a pic of my Kershaw Blackout. I also carry a swiss army knife on my keychain. I'm looking to get an airweight .38 and will carry more often then...the Ruger I have is just a little too big.

What do you guys carry daily?

In order of effectiveness, not frequency:

H+K 40 + 2 mags + either KT PF9 or Ruger LCR .38SPL

H+K 40 no extra mags

either KT PF9 or Ruger LCR .38SPL or bolff

a sharp stick and my wits along with some still speedy getaway sticks

my cellphone to call the police so they can get to the tedious task of chalk outlining, goo mopping, report taking and press releasing my ID to all the sheeple.

Smith & Wesson Model 642 w/Crimson Trace grips; or
Springfield XD subcompact 9mm.

Cell phone at all times.
Common sense.

  • Wallet
To be Added:
  • Kimber PepperBlaster 2(under 18 so I can't carry a handgun)

What I always carry on my person:

- Wallet
- Bandanna
- CRKT M16 folder
- Droid smartphone in leather slip case
- Keys

What I always carry in my truck:
- Extra large crescent wrench right under my feet... :bangin:

I like that idea of 10 feet paracord made into a chain...I've got a bunch laying around and might whip one up.
No more catchy slogans for me...I am simply fed up...4...four...4...2+2...

Some combination of the stuff in this picture. The Kimber has been replaced by a Dan Wesson CBOB, also in a Galco FLETCH. I carry both the USP and the CBOB about equally as often.

10 feet will make a nice bracelet. Once you start knotting it up, you need quite a bit to make anything long. I've made some pretty good stuff and want to make something like This next.

The guy Stormdrane makes some very good stuff, and does about everything you can ever imagine with paracord. He does have some tutorials on some of his stuff but they are usually mixed within his normal content on his site. Stormdrane

Back on topic: On my body I carry a Walther PK380 and in my car on the side of my seat I have one of those Miniature Louisville Slugger baseball bats.

Yep, that is what is was, the bracelet was always a little small for me and had a tendency to fall off. So I decided to use i as a key chain.

I dont care to wear a bracelet...I just thought that was a neat idea to have several feel of paracord handy. It looked like one of the deals where you just pull one end and it all comes loose in case of emergency...

Neat idea for a thread.
This is normal carry when I'm behind the helm. If I'm at my desk, the green "Man Pouch" as my wife and son call it jokingly and the weapon stay locked up in another location.
Starting at the 1 o'clock position.

Man pouch with new mag lite. I wore the anodizing off the last one and wife bought me the "pretty blue one"
Snap-On Knife made by Kershaw, If my pants are on. it's in a pocket, whether I'm in a suit or shorts and a tank top.
The pouch tools, Mini, adjustable wrench, snap-on ratcheting screwdriver with attachments and SOG pliers.
Home, office and boat keys.
Pens and yes, the old "Navy Memo pad".
Smokes
Wallet
Business Cards
Phone

Now you may be asking where's the weapon. Depends, I can't carry at Bass Pro Shops so it may be locked in the truck. If I'm on the boat, it may be under the helm or maybe in my T-shirt or shorts pocket. It may be a .380, or a 357 snub or the Sigma 40 depending on the attire and there's a Remington Marine magnum 12g around there somewhere. The first time everyone ganged up on the captain and threw me over was an eye opener when I can back in and layed the dripping wet stainles 357 snub on the table and asked for a towel. The owners wife about sh...t herself. I laughed my a$$ off. Then after a nervous moment by everyone but the owner (Yeah he knew, but he forgot) everyone started laughing. The owner on the other hand spent the next 3 hours joking everyone for the way they reacted, calling them sissies. It was a pretty funny nite. They were kind enough to take out my wallet and the phone was up at the helm so they thought I was clean. Nobody knew I had the snub in the T-shirt. LOL

Actually, I haven't had a cigarette since last Sunday! TheWife and I are using the e-cigarette to take up some of the slack, but so far so good!

By the way...the e-cigarette is for a whole separate thread!

When I'm out during the week, I spend all my time in courthouses and classrooms, so I am unable to carry. So my extra boring weekday carry consists of:
-Iphone... for emergency access to Facebook status updates 24/7 so I know when/where people are LOL'ing or doing laundry, or both.
-Keys... no explanation needed
-Bottle opener keychain... for when I'm really in the trenches and need to dispatch an emergency beverage.
-Gum... To battle the dreaded enemy, GINGIVITIS *insert dramatic music*
-Uni-Ball Signo Micro pen... so my ego can write checks that my body can't cash
-Nickels... To feed the meter at the various parking lots I peruse. $10 parking tickets add up fast and they seem to know when my meter is 1 minute past due. I feel nickels are the best way to retaliate against the over-eager Meter Reader's because 5 nickels weigh much more than 1 quarter... so why give them the luxury of carrying a light supply of fares back when I can make them work for that same bounty.
All very boring for weekday carry, I know

Weekend carry is all the above, plus:
-SA Micro Compact w/ 2 additional mags for a total of 18 Hornady Critical Defense .45's on hand at any given moment
-Kershaw Whirlwind Serrated knife- dulled to be dangerous

Nothing fancy, nothing spectacular, just enough to keep me out of trouble.

I smoked for 27 years.
Quit 10 years, 7 months, 11 days ago, but who's counting. I AM.
I would still kill for one.
Good Luck.
