I traveled up to the Blacksburg Shooting Range This weekend and thought I would write a review on it. I went up on a Friday and the place was pretty much empty. A couple of others came and went but everyone was nice and safe. The range itself was clean with the exceptions of shell casings of course. It goes out too 100 yards(kinda looked longer than that). The distances aren't marked so you may want to bring a range finder. You should bring you own targets and stands but sometimes there are boxes there to use. If you make a mess shooting something make sure to clean it up. They ask that you not bring monitors or any other old electronics it shoot since they make a mess and have hazardous chemicals. They have nice bench and tables. The bench swivels from side to side for left or right handed shooters. Over to the far right there is a gassy area for shooting prone if you choose. The skeet range seems to fill up fast after lunch so if it's empty do that first. It is officially a single position range but you could fit 2-3 safely. Once again everyone was nice and safe there. One more thing there are no rangemasters and no range fee, but a $1 per-shooter donation is suggested to help maintain the range. Here are some images.

BTW that range was sketchy when I was there... so much sweeping Im surprised to see dirt on the floor...
I don't quite follow?

I don't see why not, its been a while but I didn't see any rules posted and I bought steel to shoot. You guys have some really nice ranges in Indiana from what I've seen, long long distance shooting for not a lot of money.

Yeah, I'm going to miss the ranges in Indiana, but I assumed I would have even more opportunities in Virginia. I have a Savage that would be really disappointed if that's not the case.
