Me neither...the problem are the Muslims (and the liberals who help) who push their way of life on us and our children...this is greatly exacerbated when you see the same people and the MSM bashing Christians...lets face the fact: the trend in the US is pro Muslim and anti Christian...that is unAmerican...
The funny thing is, I've (personally) had religion "pushed" on me by more Christians than any other group. I've yet to see a Jew, Muslim, or anyone else show up at my doorstep to push their religion on me.

All in all, I like to think of the US as pro-freedom / pro-tolerance moreso that pro-Christian or pro-Muslim. However, I would say that by and large we are currently largely protestant, though the number of Americans which attend church or associate with any particular religion has been in decline.

CowboyT wrote:And this is why a whole lot of Liberals, especially minorities, don't want anything to do with standing up for the Second Amendment. Listen to yourselves. This is about as bigoted as it gets, folks. I'm 100% pro-2A, nor do I like Obama, I'm behind the VCDL booth at the shows every chance I get, and even I find your bigotry offensive!

Sadly, I hear this kind of junk far too often on gun forums, at gun shows, heck, practically anywhere there's a good-sized pro-gun crowd.

I don't give a rat's posterior if someone's a Muslim. I see no more problem with someone swearing into Congress on the Koran (Alexander Hamilton's, might I add), than I do with someone doing the exact same thing on the Christian Bible or the Jewish Torah or any other religious book. This is America, folks, and we have something called religious freedom here. You would do well to remember that a lot more than you apparently are.

And as for Obama being a Muslim...well, as Colin Powell put it,
"...the really right answer is, what if he is? Is there something wrong with being a Muslim in this country? The answer's no, that's not America. Is there something wrong with some seven-year-old Muslim-American kid believing that he or she could be president? Yet, I have heard senior members of my own party drop the suggestion, 'He's a Muslim and he might be associated with terrorists.' This is not the way we should be doing it in America."
What you're saying here with these anti-Muslim, or anti-AnyOtherReligionButChristianity rants that I hear way too often, is un-American, and if you're really true Americans, you should be ashamed of yourselves for it.
Well said, Cowboy.

Though, I will say that I view religious tolerance and the 2a as separate issues. So, these types of opinions (and in some cases, rantings) really have no impact on my support of the 2nd Amendment. I'll stand up for that as much as I'll stand up for the 1st Amendment. And, regardless of what I may think of things or other's opinions on things, I recognize that the right of free speech is not to be infringed just as the right to keep and bear arms is not to be infringed upon. I will stand up for the entire Constitution.

The irony of this entire thread is that the first Europeans to inhabit this country (I'm thinking post-Columbus - more Mayflower / Plymouth Rock immigrants) embarked on their voyage here (largely) to escape religous persecution, and here we are now doing the persecuting. Irony: It just happens.

And, yes, I also know that the media does a fine job of portraying the Muslims as dirty, suicide vest wearing, Jesus killing extremists who are just waiting to murder us in our sleep, but they're not all that way. Every group has their extremist population. There are "Christian" extremists, too.

Disclaimer: I'm not a Liberal, I'm not a minority (yet!), and I'm not a true Conservative. I'm happily somewhere in the middle.

Ok, off to get some more popcorn!

Ridding our nation of terrorists is now persecution. Ah yes, the liberal bs continues...

Apparently you missed these...

And no, I don't base my views on these videos. I've lived among enough Muslims to have found this stuff out for myself.

You've got me there. That Christian airplane bomber sure was a doosy. And don't forget the Christian underwear bomber! Boy was THAT a mess to clean up. And when that Christian car bomber drove into the mall on Christmas Eve, I didn't know what I would do...

Well, I can't remember the last time I heard about a Muslim blowing up an abortion clinic  Just sayin'.

It's nice to see that some of you are capable of having such grown-up, rational discussions.

I guess this is where I'm supposed to yell Rethuglian or something? Let me guess - I'm new here, so it's my job to feed the trolls today - is that it?

Why would a Muslim want to stop Americans from killing other Americans?

So accusing those who want to defend their country from terrorism as "persecuters" is grown-up and rational? Spare me...

Ah yes. The troll label is now used when cornered. I am eagerly awaiting the racist card to be played next! :hysterical:

Well, I can see this is going to be pointless, given the levels of reading comprehension fail here. You're doing a fine job of upholding all the stereotypes, though. Derp.

Oh, and just to let you know = Islam is a religion, not an ethnicity. Therefore, the hate of Muslims does not make one a racist. Hey, the more you know, right?

Michael, I knew exactly what you were saying. When you get to "s" in the dictionary, look up "satire".

And as far as reading comprehension is concerned, you've either completely ignored or missed my point. Pot meet kettle.

Just to make sure, let me spell it out for you.

THERE ARE NO EXTREME MUSLIMS. There is only the appearance of extremists. Islam is a "religion" of terrorism. Its goal is world domination through violence. To compare a movement of more than one billion people attempting to dominate the earth to a random act of insanity is ridiculous.

Your attempt to defend these murderers (whether intentionally or because you're just a complete idiot - not sure which) who want to kill me and destroy my country is absurd and anti-American.

No logical defense, just insults. Thank you Michael for demonstrating a typical liberal response.

The problem here is truly one of belief. Please allow me moment to explain...

Think in terms of something you truly believe in. How much credence do you place in that...now think in terms of someone else believing something and how much credence they place in their belief.

As a Christian and a true believer I see God's word as something I must strive to do or be held responsible by Him. Might I add that as a Christian I try to follow all of His word which means my "laws" are in the New Testament. The two most relevant to this discussion are the 2 new commandments issued by Jesus: Love the Lord your God and love your neighbor...These two are contrasted below...

So, I can directly relate to a Muslim who believes in the Quaran as I believe the Bible. So, I feel that a true believer and follower of Islam will strive with the same fervor as I do to follow the word of Mohamed. True Muslim believers and followers of Islam are commanded by the Quaran to give non-believers (thats me and you) 3 choices...

1 - convert to Islam. If you convert then they are commanded to leave you be
2 - if you refuse to convert then pay the tax as set forth in the Quaran. If you pay the tax then they are commanded to leave you be...
3 - if they refuse to convert or pay the tax then they are commanded to seek the help of God and fight you...

Dont know about you folks but I dont care to get tangled up with true believers of Islam.....yes I know, turn the other cheek, feed my enemy, etc. Those are hard to do when they are all around and you believe they are trying to kill you.
No more catchy slogans for me...I am simply fed up...4...four...4...2+2...

Islam is much more than just a religion. It is a political and judicial system too. While our courts used the Bible as a foundation (use to at least) for law, it was never like Sheria.

Indeed. We have "religion," government, politics, economics, laws, etc. Muslims - the true believers - have the Quaran which contains all of the above. Thats why the religious leaders run their countries. They are the government...

Bloomberg is one of the biggest hyprocrites on the planet,..He speaks of being American and honoring religous freedoms, yada yada, on one hand while trying his damndest to deny the 2nd Amendment rights of the citizens of this country, Makes me wonder why a puke like him is blessed with all that money and power, while all he does is waste oxygen and take up space..
