Night Sights, Who's Got em?

Post by skt239 »

Who keeps night sights on their EDC? I think I'm going to head up the the Virginia Arms Company tomorrow and get a pair put on. I used to always think they were pointless but since I prefer three dot as opposed to the Sig set up, I figured I'd go with a pair of trijicons. Anybody here use anything other than the standard green?

Let us know how it works out for you. Been interested in laser, that would work much better for these failing eyes :coffee:

Well I took the plunge this morning and got the night sights. I couldn't be happier, so far. They are bright as can be and have a real tight sight picture. I bought them at the Virginia Arms Company and they had them on in about 15 minutes. I will be heading to the range tomorrow morning so I can make sure they are on there straight. Here's a pic of the new sights, its not much to look at but what the hell, its only bandwidth :pistol:

Did Robb install them? Great people and I can not recommend them enough. I just got my BCG back that I had Robb restake.

Logistixz,

It is a tough choice. I really like the factory site set up on both sigs and glocks. The three dot is just really easy to use once you have gotten used to them and they glow all the time. I think it was well worth it.

I have a set of Meprolight's on my Glock 23 and 27. Looking to put a set of something on my Sig. Don't know if I want to go standard 3 dot or something like the XS Sights.

Anyone use the XS? Opinions?

Like most listed here; purchased my SIG (226) from Virginia Arms Company; stand-up folks from the sales to the counter folks.

About a month later, had Robb put on Trijicon night-sights - green illumination; went straight to the range and put about 200rds down-range, with very good results.

Trijicon night sights were about $110 at VAC, no charge for the install from Robb because I purchased the SIG there.

FYI I put a set of Heinie night sights on my Sig P245 last night. The front sight is a bit taller than the standard Sig (so I'm getting a bit of additional wear on the holster), but the combination still has POA/POI at 15 yards.

Personally, I'm not realy wild about night sights. I recently picked up a used P226 at the Dulles show, and it had Tru-Glo night sights on it. I plan on using it mostly for range and games, so I'll be replacing the sights with the standard Sig sights.

Greg, I have a set of P226 factory sights (put about 400/rds through pistol before moving to Trijicons). Name a reasonable price/trade/ammo - and they are yours.

Man! Wished I had thought about asking earlier. I bought a set a couple of weeks ago, or else I would be taking them off your hands.

just make sure you have someone competent install them, or you'll be in a situation like me and end up being without your gun for 2-3 weeks while you wait for your slide to get refinished.
