Any apps for iPhone for range log?

Post by DobeMan »

I have a free account for the online app RangeLog, but I don't like it so much, particularly that it isn't an app directly on my phone.

Any apps out there? I've been searching but can't find one - just games.

I was thinking about this earlier, and I am going to create a Bento database.

Ballistic FTE (Field Tactical Edition)

There are cheaper versions without the FTE too. It is a full ballistic calc. It can do some logging.

The Ballistic FTE is cool - but it's WAY more than I need - All I want to do is log my range sessions with basic information and maybe pictures of my targets. $20 is steep considering I won't be using but 5% of it's capabilities.

I've been a RangeLog member for a couple of years now; I love the site, but I've also been eagerly awaiting a mobile app. According to their newsletter, the company is working on apps for both the iPhone and Android. The apps are going allow members to sync data with RangeLog, use the apps while offline, and attach photos to log entries. It sounds like they are supposed to be available sometime after the first of the year; there is already a mobile version of the website that works on mobile browsers, but an iPhone app is going to make it so much easier to add data while at the range.

Personally I just keep my log on paper and then use a PC for long term storage (e.g. Excel). I find most phone/PDA interfaces either slow or cumbersome for range log info. They do make good ballistic calcs though.

I use the Gun Log on an iPod touch. It runs on an iPhone as well.

The RangeLog iPhone application is now available from the app store. As is the Android version of the application.
