In this video, the officer was overpowered by the subject. Pepper spray didn't slow the subject down at all.

Belligerent driver out of control. Officer deploys pepper spray to prevent driver from seeing to drive. Officer was immediately murdered.
These examples demonstrate how pepper spray can escalate violence into a terrible situation. Some may point out "issues" with each officer's handling of the situation, but that isn't the purpose of my posting these examples.
