Well I will be taking it to Bill's place on Saturday, so I am sure it will get fired once or twice

Love it. Although I need some better accessories for it, it is one awesome gun. Asked my better half for a Harris bipod for Father's day, even sent her a direct link to the one I wanted.... let's see if I get it... lol.

Sweet. I noticed one thing about gun lovers - they are pushers. Friends like to tell me, "Here, go ahead and fire this.... Isn't that nice? Don't you want $FIREARM now?"

My SR-556 is on its way, thanks to a weekend shooting with friends. Bastards.

Be particular, and be vigilant, as the enemy will only attack on two occasions:
When you're ready or when you're not ready.

Also never forget, that everyone who shows up, is not necessarily there to help.

Ain't that wood furniture just sexy?? My SOCOM II didn't have the option of wood furniture, so I got "urban camo" instead - at least it's not boring black...

Definitely post a range report when she's cooled off!

Now you need mags, lots and lots of mags.

Some stripper clips and clip guides are useful things to have as well.

Thanks all.

Yes, I plan on getting more mags, but baby-steps, lol. My wife is still trying to digest the amount I paid for the rifle. I am going to order the leather sling and leather cheek pad from SA first. I got a coupon sheet with the rifle for SA accessories and I can get most of the M1A stuff almost half off.

the following formula works for me.

1. Hom many zombies could you have to kill in one sitting? A good estimate is your counties population.

2. Divide the first number by the number of round in a mag.

3. Add another 10-20% for derating.

4. Add one. The people who get owned always needed just one more mag...

Very Nice!

The other day I was sitting at the table with a box of 500 7.62 x 39 rounds and 40 stripper clips loading them up. The wife asks how many rounds am I loading up. I told her 400. she asked why so many? I said well, if we had a zombie outbreak that is 400 zombies I can take out without having to reload the clips. When 400 rounds are gone, I will grab the next gun until "you" get some more loaded.

Just a quickie. I do love a rifle that LOOKS like a rifle and not like some Ming the Merciless killer out of Buck Rogers or Flash Gordon or some other fantasy. I've also heard that when a BG is shot with that sucker he stays shot; just as with my dearly beloved M1 Garand.
