Doesnt seem like we make much of anything, and the little we do make its made my foreign workers in a U.S. manufacturing facility probably because they undercut the average blue collar taxpaying american by so muchBob wrote:I used to always try to buy American made products, that includes vehicles, but I had to give up. It's almost impossible to do that now, it seems like everything is made in a foreign country. Don't we make anything in the USA anymore.
totally understand what you are saying and i totally agree, but you have to also agree with the fact that it makes no sense whatsoever how an american made vehicle can cost more than a comparable one made by a foreign company with a stateside plant. i believe the american car companies lost a lot of customers in the 90's (they lost the youth market then which is now the adult market) they produced vehicles that were overpriced for what you got, any smart american would walk into a chevy dealership and see a sedan that retails for say 35k and theyll walk over to a toyota dealership and see a comparable car for 10k less that would probably last 100k more miles. the industry needs a wake up call bad.VaGunTrader wrote:BUY AMERICAN OR APPLY FOR WELFARE IN CHINA
We need to buy American as often as possible. Before you look at the price look at where its made.
i'm right on board with how you're seeing thingszephyp wrote:I buy American if the price and quality dictate. Otherwise I shop for the deal. I am staunchly against supporting an American manufacturer that provides an inferior product for a superior price. Bottom line is if the foreign manufacturers can do it here better cheaper then so can the American ones. Read my previous post. GM makes a much better car for the same price in the UK. What's up with that? Me buy GM? They've got a long way to go before I consider that proposition.
