Springfield XD Trigger

Post by Dragonfly »

I have a question but I hope that this is normal.
On my XDm there is a pin in the trigger that pivots for the safety, the other day this pin had worked its self halfway out. Is this normal for the XD?

No not that I have heard. I have the XD45ACP tac since it came out and and have never had any pin work its way out.

Are you a member of XDTalk.com?

They have a specific sub forum just for the XDm Try there.

Called SA today and they are sending me out a new pin. If that pin is just as loose then I will need to send it back to the Factory.

Update. Fedex left a tag on the door yesterday so off to Mechanicsville I went to pick up my package. Looks like a new Trigger mechanism and the pin is tight. Took all but a week, I called SA on Wednesday just to find out how long it would take and the voice on the other end said "Count on 30 days"

With 20/20 hindsight, I'd say you might have had the Custom Shop do a trigger job since SA was picking up the shipping anyway. I've heard it improves the XDm quite a bit.

How did SA have the wrong pin in there in the first place?

Why didn't you just have them ship you the new pin instead of shipping your weapon back?

Glad you got SA to help, but Dragonfly...you could have just "peened" the ends of the original pin a bit more with a nail set and a block of some sort. :first:

Cheers mate, glad you are sorted,XDm's Rock!

kindof off topic but does anyone know how strict they are on the lifetime warranty applying to only the original owner. i just picked one up used and i dont have a warranty card with it and i am the 3rd owner. it has never had a problem and i dont think it will but figured i would ask just in case.

glad you got yours fixed without to much hassel dragonfly

Thought about that but when I talked to them via phone they said the entire trigger mechanism needed to be replaced and they did. It was not that the pin was to small but the hole was elongated
