Where do I buy a good Gun Safe in Northern VA?
Re: GUN SHOW
I was thinking that as well. Problem is, Baldinos is the large vendor with all the safes, and they still wont have the size I want in stock since they dont carry the Coloniol 30 in inventory, SO only....viiiball wrote:If you can wait until April 23-25 there will be a large gun show at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly and they always have several vendors displaying safes.

I just wanted to update this thread that Clark Brothers Delivered my Safe today perfectly. There prices are top notch, and even with a 2 tricky parts of delivering it, they got it in and good to go in about 40minutes... Very reasonable delivery rates as well. Priced delivered was lower than Baldinos for just the safe, so I couldn't be happier.

If anyone else is looking for one...
I bought a safe from Federal Lock & Safe, Inc in Arlington. They had a table at the Manassas Gun Collectors Show, last month. Got a fair deal on a 16-gun safe, their web site only really shows office-type safes, but they do have a showroom with a decent selection of gun safes.
I dealt with:
Brian Cameron, Retail Shop Manager

Re: Where do I buy a good Gun Safe in Northern VA?
Just to give some good food for thought - I'd love to have a high end gun safe, but just don't have the extra cash or space right now. About 2 years ago I bought a Stack-On 55" 14 gun (with shelf) safe, with a proper combination lock and 6 locking bars at Dick's Sporting Goods. The safe I have is not to be confused with the more popular Stack-On gun lockers, which are flimsy and offer minimal protection. I paid under $400 (on sale) for it, and it was light enough for a buddy of mine and me to load into the truck, and dolly it downstairs to the basement and install ourselves. My buddy ran a pawn shop and has seen many gun safes and thought this was a heck of a deal for what I got.
I recognize that this doesn't compare to the protection of a 1,200 lb safe, and some people would never be satisfied with less... but my point is, if you can't afford "the best" burglar and fire protection, there is merit to going with a system like this BECAUSE it's so affordable and offers good protection. Particularly for those who are leasing or renting an apartment/townhome and need to move around later on. In my mind, this would prevent all nosy children and neighborhood kids from access, and deter most criminals who are looking to steal things that are easy, such as plasma tv's, computers, jewelry, silverware, games... etc. Especially if, like me, you have a home alarm system like ADT, Brinks, etc.
