VP Biden says the F word into open mic

Post by IANAL »

At an event at Union Station yesterday where Vice President Joe Biden was heralding the $1.3 billion in investments in rebuilding train stations and passenger rails, a microphone picked up one of the former senator's myriad Senate colleagues addressing him, formally, as "Mr. Vice President."

Biden replied with "Gimme a f*&$#ing break," - apparently unaware that the microphone was on.

And that's what I say everytime the democraps propose new gun control. They should do him like they do NASCR drivers. Everytime a bad word slips from their mouth while on TV they get fined. Bet he'd think twice after being hit with a 25K fine.

Hi IANAL. Welcome to the forum! :welcome:

Too bad you're not a lawyer or you might be able to tell us how to get the new "F-bomb = $25k" legislation started.

He's a Yahoo and if he was fined, we the taxpayers would pay for it! They'd slip in an earmark for nasty language next budget!

almost exactly a year later and he is still saying the F word into open mics....so, one can assume that Biden is a total F'ing moron, or he believes he lives in a political vacuum... I vote that he, like his boss is just a moron.

People need to grow up, who side it aside, that's how people talk in real life and no matter what your argument it's ignorant to think otherwise. And no I don't care he's an elected official, I'd rather my officials act like real people.

Not everyone talks like that in real life. I admit that I do from time to time. However, I believe that someone in a high position of representing our country as the VP does should have a little more restraint. It's not like he's the VP of the local bowling league. He's the VP of the United States. Much is expected of him, and not having the ability to restrain his own lips is telling of his lack of character, IMHO.

I'm not going to be out in front of a bunch of people, representing the company that I work for, and "accidentally" let the F-word slip out of my mouth. I expect that the VP would have *at least* as much restraint and common courtesy as I do.

Can you imagine the thermonuclear firestorm that would have erupted if Dick Cheney would have said the same thing during his time as VP?.

The worst thing he ever did was shoot a lawyer in the face with a shotgun.

The man should have been given a medal.

If he was making a speach yes he should have shown restraint, but he did not say it while publicly speaking someone left he's mic on and he was having a PRIVATE conversation. Where I'm from you are going to here that word come out of people's mouths often. Sorry, I think it is ridiculous to be offended by a swear word. You believe so much in the freedom to bear arms but what about the the freedom of speech? And as I said if he was making a speech yes it would be in good taste to watch his language but the plain fact is he was not and lots of people's (I don't know if they are necessarily on this forum) problem is more that he's a democrat and if he was republican then they'd have no problem with. Me personally, I think all parties are crocked lol.

Please don't get me wrong - I'm far from offended by it. I just think the bar is set higher for someone in that position and I expect better.

I would agree with that to a certain point, now if he said something racist or something along those lines then I think people should be upset. but not the "f" word.

This would be a case of "situational ethics", right in some instances, wrong in others. No, a foul mouth idiot is still a foul mouthed idiot whether in public or private. I dislike Obama and Biden because they are doing all they possibly can to destroy this country, it's economy and the Constitution. And again, NO, not everyone speaks that way in public OR in private. Some have a sense of morality, and some do not. Biden does not. It is that simple.

well then I guess 95% of the country has no sense of morality including most "Christians" And as far as the economy goes I seem to recall the economy being bad since 2001 and I don't recall Bush doing anything that helped it, in fact the only thing I ever seen him help was his rich friends.

Jason, if I were a betting man (which I am not), I would bet you voted for Obama/Biden, see no problems with his handling of things and are what would amount to a "yellow dog Democrat". That is, you would vote for a yellow dog so long as it was a Democrat.

I don't vote based on party or based on what the commercials that are full of bs say. I vote based on what they have already done and supported. I have voted for people on both sides, in fact I voted for Bush. If you want to get right down to it I personally believe the 2 party system is one of the main problems with the country, both sides are out for the interest of themselves and their friends not the American people. And on top of that few of them actually vote something in in the interest of the people they vote it in in the interest of whatever will get them reelected. Also I never said anywhere that I think everything is being handled the right way because I don't, I simply said the economy was a problem years before they took office and that is just a fact.
