Tea Party Turns Abusive During Protest

I honestly do not think TEA party folk would do this. When I posted this there were 6 comments. Two of those comments were from supposed eye witnesses. Those are pasted at the bottom here...maybe some liberals doing this kind of stuff? Somebody said the other day that the windows in a Starbucks was shot out...by pro gun folk...I think not...I think liberals and antis are behind these stunts...

Members of Congress were greeted by the N-word and other derogatory epithets on their way to see the president Saturday.

As the ugly side of the we-don't-want-health-care-reform protests came out, the Tea Party activists' behavior left several lawmakers in shock, reported the Huffington Post:

A staffer for Rep. James Clyburn (D-S.C.) told reporters that Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.) had been spat on by a protestor. Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.), a hero of the civil rights movement, was called a 'ni--er.' And Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) was called a "faggot," as protestors shouted at him with deliberately lisp-y screams. Frank, approached in the halls after the president's speech, shrugged off the incident.

Clyburn, however, was not so passé.

"It was absolutely shocking to me," Clyburn told the Huffington Post. "Last Monday, this past Monday, I stayed home to meet on the campus of Claflin University where fifty years ago as of last Monday... I led the first demonstrations in South Carolina, the sit ins... And quite frankly I heard some things today I have not heard since that day. I heard people saying things that I have not heard since March 15, 1960 when I was marching to try and get off the back of the bus."

The protesters also didn't hold back in the Longworth House Office Building. A group swarmed a very calm looking Henry Waxman, as he got on the elevator, with shouts of "Kill the bill!" "You liar! You crook!", reported Brian Beutler from TPM.

U.S. Capitol Police said they did not make any arrests Saturday, although at one point they did threaten "to throw a group of protestors out of the building," according to TPM.

At about the same time, noted Gawker, Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) was tweeting:

I am grateful for the thousands of patriots who are storming the Capitol today protesting government healthcare and defending freedom. Pray

Because if spitting and ugly words don't help, maybe prayer will. At least, it is the more Christian thing to do.

A couple of comments from eye witnesses --

I was observing the rally yesterday, not the entire time I admit, and saw nothing described in this article. Sounds like the media and the dems are trying to sway public support of this grass roots fight against this horrible bill and take attention off the way they vote.

Yesterday's rally was enthusiastic & had folks from all walks of life. I was there for hours walking around the event and didn't hear anything close to a racial slur. I don't think the crowd that I saw would have tolerated it. This article is a regrettable piece of "journalism" without intellectual integrity. Regrettably it's just an unsubstantiated hit piece attempting to characterize the protestors as racist, hypocritical christians. That label is far from the truth.

If it's even true, my guess is that they were planted there by the Unions or ACORN. This reminds me of the first major Tea Party when MSNBC claimed to see KKK and Confederate flags everywhere...and no pictures to back up the claim.

We all know it's the MSM'S sworn duty to put anything anti Obama in a bad light. &^%$@ EM! Watch how much mileage they get out of this made up story, The MSM is dying in all markets and are sinking fast to the point of extinction and need to come up with some sensationalism to try keeping afloat. A lie like this gets the Black Community mad, Makes the Teas Partiers look bad and gets the MSM a bunch of attention they so badly desire,,, Like a three year old trying to get adults to pay attention to them
