NoVa Store that specializes in AR/M4s??

Post by REL1203 »

So I finally have received permission to buy/build my first AR/M4, but I really dont know to much about them and the process of building, so does anyone know of any stores in the NoVa area that are specialist when it comes to them that I can go look and see what I like?

Thanks

Welcome to VGOF! :welcome:

There are several members here that have built there own AR and will probably reply soon. In the mean time, here are a couple topics I found on the subject.

Very good links.... Useful.....

I played with a Daniel Defense one last night at VA Arms in Manassas, and liked that package, but had a $1400 price tag....

I wish there was a sight where you could completely customize an AR, they build it, and send it to my FFL, kinda like a BTO AR... That would be ideal.

Check out Fulton Armory. I had them build me a high-power competition rifle and was really pleased with their work. You can choose options and build the rifle the way you want. They also have some nice .308 AR style rifles.

They have a list of FFL's they have dealt with before, or you can have it sent to your gun store of choice.

Their website isn't the greatest....http://www.fulton-armory.com/

NOVA Armament in Herndon has some nice AR's from LMT, Fulton Armory, and Bushmaster. They also have Knights Armament from time to time while they last.

Sharpshooters (formerly Gilberts) recently put in an AR section. They got uppers, lowers (full and stripped), parts, accessories, and complete rifles. Fairly decent selection too. I merely gazed it at and didnt have a chance to check any prices...

I have purchased 2 rifles from Fulton Armory, an M14 and an M16. Superb workmanship and a fair price. Each one is hand built by a professional - no assembly line. They are located in Savage, MD.
Good luck.

It's been a few years since I've been there but, http://www.quanticoarms.com/ is located in Woodbridge, and had a great selection of ARs and tactical gear.

http://www.stonewallarms.com/ is located in Winchester, they also have a good selection of ARs, parts and a very nice selection of semi auto pistols too.

http://www.ashbyarms.com/ is a new store in Harrisonburg, they have been open for about 2 months. Their selection of ARs and parts from several manufacturers is growing and pretty good to begin with.

I realize that Harrisonburg and Winchester isn't traditionally considered NoVa, but it isn't to far a drive to either from the metro- DC area.
You just have to ask yourself, is he telling you the truth based on knowledge and experience or spreading internet myths?

IIRC Quantico Arms in Woodbridge doesn't sell guns anymore. Last time I went I saw only tactical gear, no firearms case. I DID buy my 1911 from them in 2005 but as of last year, the gun case was gone... unless they moved it to somewhere I couldn't see.

They set up a new shop in the little town of Quantico. I visited a few months ago and they had a couple ARs and pistols. Mainly tactical gear and knives. Said they were going to gear up on firearms.

Caution if you go there you must traverse QMCB. ALL weapons must be stowed for transport (unloaded, separated from ammo, mags unloaded, etc) and your CHP is not valid. When I went I had a boat load (no pun intended) of weapons and ammo. I declared so to the guards, flashed my govt ID and told them I was headed to Quantico. They barely gave me a second look.

NOVA Armament in Herndon had 6-8 full AR rifles on the wall along with some parts, earlier this week.

Virginia Arms Co. in Manassas always has a good selection of rifles and a huge selection of parts, including LRPK sets.
