on the brink of another civil war?

Post by GS78 »

The house will move to vote on a new rule. This new rule will allow the previous vote on the healthcare bill, that had more votes FOR in it, to stand.

So, as I understand it, this is the way it will go, if it goes as the dems plan...

They will vote for this new rule that will allow them to count the unofficial vote tally from the first version of the "bill" (at that time there was no bill, just a 20 something page proposal by obama)for the final vote , even though they don't have those votes now. If they vote this new rule in, they will not need to have enough votes in the house for the senate version. This senate version will then be passed up to the President, without the required vote call and vote count for a bill, they will actually be signing a counterfeit law, and the worst part is, they all know it. They will be in direct violation of the constitution, and Obama will committing a crime by signing into law his healthcare bill without the prescribed procedural votes by house and senate.

Even now we are not being told whats in this version of the bill. The other day Nancy Pelosi said " we need to pass this bill first, then we can figure out whats in it, the entire country has been waiting for healthcare reform for centuries."

I wonder how much more the people will suffer these fools before things boil over.

This be common knowledge if you watch Fox. They've been detailing this for several days now. And yes, the dems are pulling some shady crap.

Many of you think once the right is in control again they will reverse the health care crap. Well, the dems in the senate put a very special little clause in that says a certain part of the bill can never be repealed - the nice meaty part...a point of order was called on it by the republicans that by senate rules that required a 2/3 majority to pass. The point was shot down by the twit that was presiding over the senate for that session.

exactly. Thats why they have to "make a new rule" to pass this , they are now asking some in their own partry to commit political suicide to get this passed. It's the damndest thing I have ever seen, IT's NOT EVEN A BILL if it lands on obama's desk because of this "new rule", it is an AFFRONT to everything AMERICAN. I can only hope that some on the left come to their senses before they proceed with this treasonous act, or it may lead to a devastating upheaval in this nation. Again, I am not concerned with his idea for sociaslized medicine, especially after the General Assembly have stated that Virginia will not comply with his crap, and 34 more states look like they will follow us, but the way they are trying to subvert even their(congressional) own laws and regulations to make a new law(rule) to do it. "By any means ", is something that Obama learned from saul alinski

We haven't bothered to follow the Constitution for a long time. Break a rule here, break one there. In the end everyone (on the other side) grumbles, but nothing will be done. How exactly do you propose we hold them accountable? The Attorney General won't do it, neither will anyone in the Federal Government. Some States will try not to implement it, but not a single one of these Senator's will have anything to worry about legally. Might loose an election, but most of them are already so rich it doesn't really matter.

The Constitution is suppose to be the highest law of the land and they swore an oath to uphold it. Everyone else can get arrested and put on trial because of breaking administrative law; which isn't even US code, but rather a nameless, faceless bureaucrat interpreting it and putting out a memo. You would think someone charged with upholding the law would have the balls...

I don't know what the answer is. How can I when most of the congress don't even know what the question is. Our nation is being lead by fuedal lords, not representatives of the people, and I never said it started with this administration, but it is coming to a head under it.

@gunerwood - you are absolutely correct. The problem is they have passed many unconstitutional laws. At that point the Constitution no longer matters until you violate that law and find a court to stand by you and the Constitution. Then you hope it goes to SCOTUS where it can be corrected. With the current administration attacking even SCOTUS and loading the bench with socialists this even becomes a crap shoot.
