When are we going to have a VGOF get together at this great outdoor target shooting place of which you speak?

(How's that for an idea?!)

Re: Out Door Target Ideas?
Bah. No ammo to speak of here. Just some .38's for my revolver.
I really do want to get some sort of get-together planned for one of these weekends...but I don't want to hijack your thread, so I'll save this discussion for the Meet and Greet forum
Back to our regularly scheduled program, in progress....

I wish it was my property. It's my GF's family farm in PA and I believe there are dear.

Something we have done in the past…
12oz plastic coke bottles
Vinegar
Baking Soda
Container for soda (I use cigarette papers)
Fill bottles ½ to ¾ with vinegar.
Place 1 to 2 tea spoons baking soda in cig paper and twist the ends.
Drop soda in vinegar bottle and cap quickly.
Shoot targets/bottles near the bottom at the seam, watch results and pick up trash.
(side note) Don’t shoot them when the wind is blowing toward you.
Second note: If your in the Montgomery County area we have action pistol shoots on the 3rd Saturday of each month.
If the mods will allow I’ll post more info.

Absolutely - please post more info. That's what this place is here for0007dad wrote:Second note: If your in the Montgomery County area we have action pistol shoots on the 3rd Saturday of each month.

If there is something that you would like to see added to the calendar, I'm happy to do that as well.
Re: Out Door Target Ideas?
I'll tell you what I use if you promise not to tell the authorities.
First "get" some real estate signs the kind with a metal frame around them that the brokers put up. Throw the sign away , this is very important (evidence) hang some cardboard on the metal frame and put your targets on that.
They push in the ground with your foot and are real handy, I just keep replacing the cardboard when it gets too shot up, I'll take a picture and post it later, they are in the shed and I don't feel like going out in the rain.

Disclamer: I do not advocate anyone stealing signs, it was an attempt at a little humor.
If you know someone in the business and can get some of these they work out real good, I've been using the same ones for many years. I had to take a picture because I wasn't sure I explained myself very well.

You can pick those sign holders up at Lowes if you are opposed to the occasional "midnight requisition"
