Does this mean their current stock of new firearms was a bit sparse? Not unexpected for a new store.Gtone wrote: Can't wait to see the new firearms stock flow in.

Just got back. Good ammo selection as Gtone said. Small store with small inventory (just starting out). Good prices. Very friendly staff that actually ask if you need help with anything. Bought some goodies for myself. A pleasant experience...will go back again.

Just came back, I was the first FFL purchase there with my lancaster arms AK74
(I'll upload pics as soon as my camera starts working..). Staff was very friendly and interested in helping you out with your firearms needs. They don't have too much on hand right now (three lee enfields, 2 shotguns, and various handguns if memory recalls) but they said they'll get a new shipment of stuff next week.
Suffice to say I am going to be a returning customer and am glad such a great store opened up practically within walking distance.

I just got back myself. Bought a magazine for my 1911.
Nice bunch of people, very helpful. They are still building up their inventory, but if you need 9mm, .38, .22lr, .40 and 12 gauge you're set. They also have some .380- FMJ and HP.
I will also be a regular customer, dealing with friendly people is high in my book.

... stopped by around 1100hrs, got some cleaning supplies; inventory is in building phases; inquired about holsters, was told that another series of shipments due this coming week of additional items; plenty of .22CCI's, SureFire lights (about 10ish), some long-guns on rear-right wall; didn't get to chat with staff much (except one gent, there were two females and a younger asian male working the event - I've shot with him at Bull Run on the five-stand); shop is about 4miles from office, so I'll poke my head in there on occassion; saw about 4-5 VCDL hats.

Yeah. I found the snow. It was under the tires of every idiot on the road. It took me almost an hour to get from Falls Church to Herndon.viiiball wrote:It started snowing about 10:00 out here in Leesburg. I actually got in the car and started to head towards Herndon but with the idiots driving at 35 mph on Rt 7 I decided to not risk some yeah-hoot hitting my wife's new car just to go to a gun shop. Trust me, I get things hard for new gun stuff but I would never hear the end of it if I were to wrinkle the wife's car. Have to catch you guys another time. Hope some folks were able to make it by.LFS wrote:Where's all the snow?
I may try and get by there tomorrow since they have Sunday hours which, by the way, I think is FANTASTIC.
But it was good. I like their ammo selection, though in the hour and half I was in the store it had been noticeably reduced. However, they stock plenty of Georgia Arms ammo. I bought 50rds to test in my gun. If it works well, I'm buying the 500rd bulk stuff.
I was seriously contemplating getting the Ruger LCP they had on consignment, that was until Rick grabbed the last two boxes of .380 target rounds.

Re: New Gun Shop in Herndon
I showed up around noon and stayed for an hour or so. Handed out a lot of VGOF stickers and left a stack of them for others who might have been stopping by later. I just got home after a detour through Fredericksburg for dinner on the way home.
Nice folks at Nova Armament. It was good to meet you all. It was good to see Andy (LFS) again. He and Riana were the only VGOF'ers that I saw other than one of the owners of the place - kle, I think. I had family in tow, so just kept the meet and greet there at Nova Armament.
I picked up their only two boxes of Winchester value pack .380 auto and two boxes of Wolf .45's. Prices were pretty good on the shells. I almost grabbed that LCP as well, but another guy jumped in and saved me from having to reach in my pocket for some cash. Not sure who he was, but thanks, dude! lol
There were a lot of cars in the ditches along I-95 both coming and going. I'll guess we have about 8-10 inches of snow here at the house. Thank goodness for the 4x4 Navigator. It eats snow for dinner
Good, friendly people running the store. Seems like it was a pretty productive day for them. I'll probably be back soon. Hopefully, they'll continue to get more stock over the next few days/weeks. I think they've got a good thing started there.
Congrats on your Grand Opening!
Let me know if there's anything I can do to help you move in the right direction.

Re: New Gun Shop in Herndon
Hi Everyone,
We just want to say thank you to everyone who braved the snow and supported our opening day! We will drive to be the best shop in the area. We do have to apologize to those who were looking for more inventories today, we promise, they will show up in the shop very soon.
Also, just for fun, we did receive a email like this in our mail box:
"A gun store is one thing that we do NOT need or want in Herndon. I and many others hope and pray that your business is disasterous and you have to close soon.
Guns wielded by people KILL and they should be tightly controlled!"
I guess we all know this will happen, but just not this soon.

Stopped by around 11 with my wife and father, dad picked up some 45 ammo and I picked up a Pmag and snap caps. My wife was so intrigued by the jewelry that she made me call them back to get the name.... I know what I am getting the wife for Valentines Day!! A shop that has guns and jewelry will be a regular stop for my clan. Its great to have a shop in the neighborhood.

Re: New Gun Shop in Herndon
Gentlemen:
I'll be headed to your shop next week to consign a couple of guns and to purchase some ammunition. Sorry I couldn't make it today due travel. I wish you guys the best.
I've been an entrepreneur all of my life and it always amazes me when I hear someone express their "hater" like mentality/disposition against people brave enough to go into business. Very few understand the true costs of operating a business (let alone the risks). Most will never understand the cost of paperclips, rent, payroll etc. It's one thing to have a view against or for something, but to "hope and pray that your business is disastrous" is a terrible and pathetic thing to say to someone brave enough to take that risk.
I'll be by your shop next week to patronize your establishment. Good luck!

Aren't those necklaces wonderful? I have to get my hubby to come by some time to check out the jewelry - I've got a birthday coming up, after all.rugdoc wrote:My wife was so intrigued by the jewelry that she made me call them back to get the name.... Hey, Rick - remind your Mrs. that we need a picture of that beautiful necklace she bought today.

The big turnout despite the weather did away with any worries of mine that being situated in Northern Virginia you all might face a challenge towards being successful, given the reputation for NOVA being exceedingly liberal (And with it, the assumption of being anti-gun). Good to know that crazy women like her are just a vocal minority in Northern Virginia and you all will be doing very well.NOVAArmament wrote:Hi Everyone,

And guns wielded by people kill? Well, I'm certainly more worried about the guns NOT wielded by people that still kill! Those are the tricky ones!

I'd send about 10 TB of gun literature to them...

No more catchy slogans for me...I am simply fed up...4...four...4...2+2...

Re: New Gun Shop in Herndon
LOL - I -almost- bought both of 'em but since I've got about 3 or 4 100-ct boxes of WWB stashed for my LCP I figured I'd leave 'em for somebody who might need them.... I was hoping for a little more hardware to be in stock as I had cash in wallet looking for a new 9mm. Guess I'll have to wait for the Dulles show in 2 weeks...allingeneral wrote:I picked up their only two boxes of Winchester value pack .380 auto and ....

Re: New Gun Shop in Herndon
I was by last week, Friday, bought a 500rd can of GA arms, and schweeet Hinderer knife.
My P30S .40 cal is on its way there, for the FFL transfer, double schweeet!
nice guys, and the knives are impressive. the one i grabbed is like:

but with the spanto (spear-tanto) blade with flipper, kinda a combo of the middle and bottom blades here:

the ability to move the 'clip' to the opposite end, means i can use the flipper by having the blade "point up" opposite of how most folders are carried, very hand.
hope the store works out, nice guys and great addition to the nova space.
oh, and to this luminary: "Guns wielded by people KILL and they should be tightly controlled!"
let her know we all promise to use a solid thumbs-forward grip for our tight control. send them here: http://www.guncite.com/index.html
