Just look at this picture from German news site Spiegel. Pay close attention to the Navy airman on the left... notice something familiar on his sleeve?.

Yep... it's a VCDL patch. Now that's how to represent!. I"ll bet you a tall stack of "No Guns" signs that you won't find one single anti-gunner busting his hump in Haiti to help the injured.

Well, i was actually gonna answer your question with a silly answer, but...I read the post first... :roll:

That is pretty cool. I wonder who he is. Any idea? We should find out and send him (or her maybe) and thank you letter.

No idea on who this person is.... yet.

There is a thread on OCDO, but when the word "photoshop" was tossed into the mix, the conversation turned to name calling. Maybe the upcoming VA-ALERT will bring him to the surface.

That is truly awesome. I've been putting off the joining of the VCDL because every time I go to do it I remember I have to set up Paypal and become lazy. Tonight, how ever, I might just bight the bullet.

You don;t have to have a paypal account to pay via paypal. You should be able to pay with your credit card through paypal without creating an account. Either way - whatever. Just do it :)

I did the old fashioned way and actually scribbled out a check and snail mailed it..... but I was gonna say, do we know that there isn't another va unit using that insignia?

Looks to me like it fairly clearly says "DEFENSE LEAGUE" in the zoom image

I don't want to argue with everyone here....... especially about a patch. Why is it that every time I post an opposing view I get attacked by the entire right wing crowd? It's HATE SPEECH!! and INTOLERANT!! I admit I was WRONG and yet you all continue to berate me. WHY? because I have a differing viewpoint? because I don't fit the mold on this site?!! oh forget it.... I am not sure what branch these personnel are with, but I do work on an Air Force base and know that the Air Force personnel can wear a patch of THEIR choice on the right shoulder of their flight suit. But seeing the flag on the left shoulder of the one person, these are not air force personnel.... so I don't know.

EDIT: Duh, I guess I should have read the caption under the pic, flying to a Navy ship, I guess that would make them Navy. Sorry, it's early and I haven't had any coffee yet. Or maybe I just need this :tinfoil:

VCDL members tend to be from every sect of society. They are very nice people who firmly believe in the Constitution. Some have military or law enforcement experience, some don't.

I doubt you will find a nicer bunch of people anywhere from all cross-sections of VA.
