Earthquake relief thread.

Post by GS78 »

http://www.redcross.org/portal/site/en/ ... f0870aRCRD

I'm sure many of you have already donated to the red cross for the relief effort in Haiti. Its easy to do. You dont have to give thousands or even hundreds, ten bucks, the cost of lunch at arbys....everything is needed.

Rick, my appologies if this post is inappropriate.

ps...haven't been on much, my computer crashed.....shortly after I posted the tin foil section suggestion.....

No problems with this post GS.

Your computer crashed after the tin foil suggestion? That sounds like a good reason to don the tin foil right away!

... also a THANKs to the first responders, the military and civilian units from the USA that have left and/or are leaving to provide support and comfort to those in need in Haiti... and to the families that "keep the logs in the fire" at home during those absences.

The Obama White House has taped George W Bush and Bill Clinton to head up disaster relief in Haiti. I guess times like these make for strange bedfellows.

I guess my post will upset a lot of people, But I believe it is time for the good old USA to stop being big brother to the world. We need to take care of our selves first. How many times do we have to give money to a country and they take it with 1 hand and stab us in the back with the other.

I know how you feel, exactly. I remember when they(the haitians) chased us out of Port-Au-Prince with pitchforks and shovels, and AK's....but, geographically we have no choice in this one. I mean even China sent a delegation. I am sure most American people have no problem helping, and using our troops to do so, a population so devastated as this one is. You have to acknowledge that these people had nothing to begin with. I think it is a shame that such a third world existence even is possible in this hemisphere. We had no other option in this one. However, and I said this to my wife the other night, OBAMA may try to grant immunity to all Haitians living in this country and even bring some more over here and grant them emergency citizenship siting that "Their nation is too dangerous, etc..." and sure enough, that kind of rumbling has already been heard from 1600. That is another way the Dems can increase the number of "american"people who 'owe' them something...building their voting base is always on the minds of people like Rahm emmanuel, and this tragedy will not be wasted on simply relief.

you know, this disaster in Haiti can easily be used as "training" in that it will soon become the largest example of civil unrest in history.Watch how the US government reacts closely.

Excellent point. I guess they dont have guns down there so they probably wont confiscate those. I wonder what they will do about machetes or other weapons.

yeah, well I'm sure I am not the only one who knew this would happen, but gangs are now murdering fellow haitians for what little they can steal. Soon this mission of rescue will evolve into a police action. Amnesty for haitians now living in the USA illegally, along with a a similar operation to the mariel boat lift of 1980.

Yup and I saw the blue helmeted UN troops in the news down there this AM. Made me wonder what would happen if we had the big one here.
