Is $50 a fair offer for this gun?

The gun is worth a lot more

Model 1906 H&R .22RF Revolver

Post by herohog »

A friend of mine said she had an old .22 she wanted to get rid of and I told her I would look at it and see what it was worth and either buy it (if it was cheap enough) or find a buyer for it. It is a 7 shot double/single-action Model 1906 H&R .22RF Nickle plated Revolver in fair to good shape. Looking around, I figured I would offer her $50 for it. Sound fair to y'all?

Yes if you want it. It sold brand new for between $2.50 and $5.00

I went ahead and bought it. I figure most any working gun is worth $50 and given the guns condition, it is pretty close to that in value. It's not like I am gonna sell it to make a million. I got it to keep and shoot.

None in my auction database (I'm an auctioneer and have access to records of gun auction results nationwide) for the past 6 months, but not all of the auctioneers are computerized yet.

Only reference I found was this:

That said, any working gun should be worth $50 I'm with you on that.

I found several on Google last night using "H&R"+1906+revolver as the search string. The highest I found was $186 or so for a mint one in the box!
