Mark 45 - 5-inch 54 caliber Light Weight Gun (LWG).
In navy ordnance, caliber is measured differently than handguns. Navy caliber is a ratio of the barrel length to the size of the bore. This monster fires a 5-inch projectile through a rifled 5-inch bore. The projectiles each weigh about 90 pounds. I have a powder casing here at the house that I use as an ash tray on the back patio. It stands about 3 feet tall. You can see the projectile in this picture about an inch from the left margin of the image. This gun fires in excess of 13 nautical miles and shakes the whole ship when it goes off. It can fire up to 20 rounds per minute (one round every 3 seconds).
