C2 shooting center
C2 shooting center
Has anyone had any experience with C2 shooting center in Va Beach? Price, facilities, staff, instructions? Anything.

It's a top notch facility, the staff is good but the prices are a tad high if you're paying by the hour. If you go a lot, a membership might be better, but it's not cheap either. If they had some competition, I bet the prices would be better.

I'd have to agree with the description of "top notch"
I've been out there to shoot a couple of times and was impressed with everything except their prices.
But they have the market cornered on a public range with targets further than 25yds in the Hampton roads area. And good solid shoes...if it's rained recently, you're gonna get muddy feet..no automated target fetchers like the ones that spoil up at the local indoor ranges

I went with some friends a few weeks ago, and I was very impressed with C2. The staff is professional, the range controls are solid, and the facility was good stuff.

My first time out there with SWMBO this morning. The staff was very professional and the facilities were solid. Spent 20 minutes playing with my new Five-seveN (so much for getting an AK right before deployment), and spent about another hour with the boss shooting side by side - she was shooting at Appleseed (http://www.appleseedinfo.org) targets, and I was busy making sight adjustments on the AR.
As far as shooting an Appleseed course of fire, the ability to shoot standing wasn't a big deal. Prone, on the other hand, found my wife under the shooting table. Sitting was done from the shooting bench, sitting Indian-style on the folding chair.
Price is steep. However, this has quickly become my wife's favorite range, and it's only fifteen minutes away from the house. I could see us blowing through the cost of a membership pretty quickly, if given the opportunity.
Summary: Pretty significant drive, pretty significant cost, pretty significant range. Recommended.

C2 is a great facility. The addition of the steel plate targets at the end on the right side of the public range is really fun with a buddy or just racing the clock by yourself. I personally do not like the restriction of indoor ranges so I almost exclusively shoot at C2. It is a nice drive from VA Beach also through the countryside. Its nice to get out of the city every once in a while.
