I guess he'll have to load it now, since the news just outed him.Sohail had a rifle ready and quickly aimed it directly in the robber's face, forcing the man to drop the bat and lay on the ground. Unbeknownst to the man, Sohail never loads his gun.

An unfortunate truth that we must indeed abide by.Palladin wrote:+1Lexington wrote:Sohail is a fool.

Am I mistaken, or does an unloaded gun = the perfect excuse for a robber to shoot YOU and get away with it?

Robber=automatically in the wrong.
Indeed, Sohail needs to rethink that whole "unloaded gun thing".

I assumed it was already a given that our legal system is fubared?eagleye44 wrote:I'm no Lawyer but...If a robber can legally shoot you under ANY circumstances (during the act of a robbery) then our legal system needs to be taken out back and beaten...shulatt wrote:Am I mistaken, or does an unloaded gun = the perfect excuse for a robber to shoot YOU and get away with it?

Ideally the invader should automatically be considered in the wrong...however if that was in fact the case, castle doctrine would be a done deal rather than something we're having to fight tooth and nail to get back as a basic right.

If the robber had a liberal jury then you would be correct.shulatt wrote:Am I mistaken, or does an unloaded gun = the perfect excuse for a robber to shoot YOU and get away with it?

I think it would be the other way around.Vahunter wrote:If the robber had a liberal jury then you would be correct.shulatt wrote:Am I mistaken, or does an unloaded gun = the perfect excuse for a robber to shoot YOU and get away with it?
Defense Attorney: Mr Robber why did you shoot the victim.
Mr Robber: He had a loaded gun and my life was clearly in danger.
Defense Attorney: Your honor, I move to dismiss the charges. Mr Robber was clearly in the right. He shot in self defense...
Judge: Case dismissed.

Sadly I can see this happen, but I doubt it will happen in Henrico County courts according to a friend that passed away he work as a sheriff at the court, James Fitzgerald but you know I can still see the above mentioned scenario actually happen.zephyp wrote:I think it would be the other way around.Vahunter wrote:If the robber had a liberal jury then you would be correct.shulatt wrote:Am I mistaken, or does an unloaded gun = the perfect excuse for a robber to shoot YOU and get away with it?

With the current administration this is indeed a possibility.Afrikaner82 wrote: Sadly I can see this happen, but I doubt it will happen in Henrico County courts according to a friend that passed away he work as a sheriff at the court, James Fitzgerald but you know I can still see the above mentioned scenario actually happen.
