Any Fairfax Rod & Gun club members?

Post by logistixz »

I shot at this club for the first time last weekend for an ATA event and the club was great! I was just wondering if there were any members on here that could fill me in on exactly how one becomes a member there? (i know the site provides a little bit of info but id rather hear from someone that is actually a member there)

I'm not a member, but I did find their web site.

http://www.fxrgc.org/
Currently the Associate membership fee is $1,250.00. Active memberships, when available from the Club, have a membership fee of $2,500.00. Annual dues for both types of memberships are $350.00, payable in full on April 1 each year. Based on the present number of applications on our waiting list, there is a projected wait of approximated 3 to 6 months for an Associate membership.

Yes it is, but it's a pretty awesome facility. Even has a stocked pond you can fish if so desired. I have some friends that are members, and have shot there a few times. I would love to be a member, but it's hard to justify the $$$$

Looks like they've got plenty of nice ranges, but my guess is that its a social club where the big focus is on Sunday morning trap and skeet - hence the outrageous dues.
No more catchy slogans for me...I am simply fed up...4...four...4...2+2...

Is there anybody who's a member that's willing to show me the range, and sponsor me? Thanks!

I am also interested in joining.. My father was a member (one of the earliest members), and I would like to see the facilities and would consider joining since I live in Manassas...

Anyone a member and could show me around?

Fairfax is far from a "SUNDAY morning trap and skeet social club". With 8 trap and skeet fiellds, we do have a strong program in these venues, but there is an active 6 stand league, wobble trap, High-power silhouette range, black powder matches of several types, a new .22 cal "plinking" - reactive target range, two handgun steel plate ranges, a 25/50 yd pistol range for practice and formal, regular matches, a 50/100yd rimfire range with regular matches, a 100/200 yd bench rest and high power match and practice range, a 10/'200/300 yd "hunters bench rest range, a 50 yd running game range, a limited access AP/IDPA match and practice range, outdoor archery range, indoor and outdoor pellet gun ranges, two "primative"campsites, a couple dozen camper hook ups, a full service snack bar, proshop, and 150 person cap. meeting hall, 5 acre bass lake, about a mile of riverfront property and about 400 undeveloped acres of mature hardwood forest to explore - when we are not " socializing".
My wife figures it costs about a dollar a day for our family to enjoy the many functiond offered by the club.

Is the proshop open to the public? Looking for a source for shot and the only other local one I've found is BullRun....

Cheers

No takers on a tour? Want to get in? You've got to have two member sponsors. A good way to "meet and greet" would be to volunteer at some club functions* and shoot in some of our "open" shoots.
*Sept. 18th Boy Scout Shoot - up to 150 scouts and their families - .22 rifle, trap, skeet, 5 stand and bb gun. - lookinf for interested volunteer instructors. call for details. day/eve.
