I really want both my fiance and I to attend some type of practical pistol course.
While I'm not new to firearms, I've never really received any instruction on handguns.... I just read some articles and did what felt comfortable and gave the best results.
I think I'm looking for some type of intro to defensive handgun course. Ideally, I'd want a small instructor-student ratio with the ability to get some help making my "shotgun pattern" look more like well-aimed shots.
Both my fiance and I have been shooting handguns for a couple years, so we really don't need something that covers "this is a revolver... this is a semi-automatic..." material.
I would have no problem with a course that requires several hundreds of rounds of ammunition, so long as I can walk away with some improved technique and knowledge.
Recommendations for training class and facility?

My wife and I took the Concealed Carry for Self Defense class last summer. Sixteen hours of tough, but enlightening, work. 4 hours of it was classroom, the rest on the range.
We'll probably sign up for the advanced class in the spring.
