Excellent question,,I know that my guy NYE had said months ago that he did not support the bill as it was and did not support it this time... That little ploy of the Dems has to end,,They think we are stupid and don;t see through the smoke screen,,, 2010 can;t come soon enough to get the next phase of taking it back under way. We can only hope that the Senate pays attention better than the House does,,,,,

Contact our Senators NOW! Tell them to vote NO on the upcoming Senate vote on the healthcare bill

Senator Warner - 1-877-676-2759
http://warner.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?p=Contact

Senator Webb - (202)-224-4024
http://webb.senate.gov/contact.cfm

Dear Senator,

Please vote NO on the healthcare bill when it comes to a vote in the Senate in the coming days. It is clear from the outpouring of anger and displeasure coming from your constituents that this health care bill is NOT what We, The People want.

We understand the need for healthcare reform, but THIS IS NOT IT!

VOTE NO!

Senator Warner's Response:

Dear Mr. xxxx,

Thank you for contacting me about reforming our nation's health care system. I appreciate hearing from you on such an important issue. Over the past few months, I have traveled around Virginia to hear from people all over the Commonwealth on the issue of health care. Since June, my office has been contacted over 200,000 times by constituents on both sides of the debate. Hearing from constituents is a vital part of my job as a United States Senator and I hope you will continue to share your opinions with me as the health care debate takes shape.

A fundamental principle that must guide us through this debate is the fact that our current health care system is financially unsustainable. While many are concerned about our Federal deficit, most do not realize that the primary cause of our deficit is the increasing per-person costs of Medicare and Medicaid; by 2017, Medicare will be insolvent. Additionally, American business is weakened by the current costs of health care. Per capita health care costs in the United States are double that of virtually every other developed nation in the world, leaving American business at a disadvantage and unable to compete in a global economy. American families also suffer from the rising costs of health care: within the next decade, premiums will consume 40 percent of an average American family's income. To do nothing about the current state of our health care system would mean exploding our national debt, hobbling American business and crippling family budgets.

Although I do not support a government-run single-payer health care system, I believe we need comprehensive reform to achieve a competitive, cost-effective, and efficient system. This effort should be primarily focused on ensuring that all Americans can get adequate health coverage, and the coverage must be cost-effective and based upon data-driven medical standards. We must ensure that competition remains among health care providers because it is precisely that competition that drives innovation and cost reduction in the industry.

The health care reform debate in the Senate has intensified over the last few weeks, with the House of Representatives passing its version of the bill. The Senate also recently unveiled its version and is expected to consider the bill on the floor in the coming weeks. I continue to review the bill and am actively engaged in discussions with my fellow Senators to make improvements once it comes to the floor. These improvements will focus on reforming our payment system, increasing transparency in the system, improving prevention and wellness, and strengthening health information technology.

I encourage you to visit my website, www.warner.senate.gov/healthcare, for additional information. I have posted the complete text of the bill, as well as the CBO cost estimate. Unfortunately the health care debate has resulted in a lot of myths and misinformation about the various bills being considered. Nonpartisan websites such as www.factcheck.org or www.politifact.org can be helpful in explaining specific provisions and clearing up confusion about this complex issue.

Thanks again for contacting me. As we move forward, I will continue to seek out the advice and opinions of all Virginians in order to help shape an improved health care system that will be in all of our best interests.

Sincerely,
MARK R. WARNER
United States Senator

He and Webb still are using the same canned responses that have been used for months now. we do need to keep pressing them to vote NO , Hopefully our voice will be heard and they will do the right thing.

Same one. I'm certain that they will vote their "conscience." Fargen bastages. I wrote a letter several days ago to my congressmen (connolly good for nothing twit) and still havent heard back. It was actually a nice letter asking him to explain what impact the socialist health care package he voted for would have on me.

today is the last chance, I not convinced that we can do anything about it, but I have been calling and voicing my opposition to this disaster-in-the-making. I think they will get the votes needed for cloture, and then drag the american people kicking and screaming further toward the socialist utopia that the left thinks exists. I wonder what would have happened to a congress like this one, when america was only a few years old?...

ps- I think I know the answer to that hypothetical, however with the current atmosphere in the country I think its best to leave that one hangin.....

you know? I may be wrong on this point, but I don't remember congress meeting on, no less VOTING on a saturday, and yet this bunch of treasonous bastards have now met twice lately on sat. to vote. Why don't they just do it at say 3 am in a dark sewer pipe under the capital?.....just say'in...

A note from Senator John Cornyn (R) Texas:
Senator Cornyn wrote: Richard -

I just witnessed the 60th vote in the Senate to move the Democrats’ contentious $2.5 trillion health care bill forward to a vote. No matter what the Democrats may try to tell you this is a bill that will increase taxes, cut Medicare and use fancy accounting tricks to hide its true cost. The American people deserve better and Senate Republicans and our supporters continue to be the only thing standing between Democrats and the socialization of the American health care system.

As the Senate begins to consider this bill, please make sure to visit our new Health Care Task Force site http://www.healthcaretaskforce.org. And, if you haven't already, join the effort and stay informed on what you can do. Learn the real facts about this bill and not the Democrat spin. We cannot allow Washington bureaucrats to take control of our health care system.

Sincerely,

Senator John Cornyn

Yeah, I just sent emails to Warner and Webb explaining that they needed to consider the effects that passage of that crap will have on citizens of the Commonwealth and that they need to vote accordingly. While the taxes may only apply to the "wealthy" and business, We The People will pay for it in the form of higher prices for consumer goods/services.

Yeah, well here it is before six am on a sunday and I have just informed both of our Senators that they should be replaced. Both of them have shown throughout this debacle that they have no intention of actually voting on the premise that they represent Virginians at all, in fact both of these men have decided that Virginians work FOR THEM, not the other way around. I assured both of them that 'we the people' are fully aware that they HAVE seen and heard the will of Virginians on this matter through this most contentious summer and fall. They have seen and heard Virginians, as well as a growing number of all americans not only say no to this debacle, but say "HELL NO!!" upon seeing and hearing , BOTH have turned their backs on the people they swore to represent in favor of trial lawyers and lobbyists. The games have begun, with all the "talk" about the two democrat "hold-outs" ....BULLSH*T!! those two were just using the same old D.C. horsesh*t politics to get 100's of millions of tax payer dollars for their districts in exchange for their votes, and they both got some obama mad money and they both voted yea. I think its time to get the pitchforks and torches ready , maybe some hot tar too....

Here's what I sent to both of them.

Senator Warner [Webb],

I am completely dismayed that you voted for cloture on the current health care legislation on Saturday. I can't wait until we have the opportunity to remove you from office, unfortunately, it appears that it may be too late by then.

I just want you to know that this vote that you cast yesterday will result in me casting my vote for ANYONE who runs against you at the next opportunity.

I sent them a scathing indictment as I intend to do from now on. I realize that will most likely land me on "the list" but I've been on it before, hell I may have never been taken off it. I am truely sick of the pathetic representation the American people are getting from Washington. Last I checked, congress had an approval rating hovering around 27 %.......TWENTY-SEVEN PERCENT?!! and yet they continue to thumb their collective noses at the American Citizen?? why?...because they know the american public will do nothing but write letters and recieve form letters in return. The country is ready for a real insurrection.... oh and in case anyone is paying attention, the twenty-seven percent that appoves of congress, are all collecting some form of handouts from the government. Redistribution of assets is the plan, and the plan is going ahead whether or not you or I appove of it.

I am in full agreement, After that debacle yesterday and the radical judge appointment to the 7th the other day they've shown that they have no respect for us or our opinion. They are so hell bent to pass the Health Care bill and secure their spot in history that they are blind to the truth.I can just imagine the BS they will sling when reelection comes up.It will be their time to go away and let someone else play on the swings that won;t twist the chains into knots. It is indeed sad when the responsible citizens are ignored for the sake of the lazy and non participating ones while the "elected" continue to feed their egos in their non stop drive to destroy the republic.Yesterdays dog and pony show was a joke and a disgrace to the people of this country. The so called hold outs were only there to add a bit of drama to a Democratic slam dunk of this continued farce called health care reform.

EVERY day I give Pelosi, Warner and Webb an "F" from here: http://www.gradegov.com/ and, when I can keep myself from making statements that may be perceived as threats, I also generate a public letter to them from here as well. You can only vote once a day and it remembers your last 3 votes which works out fine for me as every 3 days, I slam one of these parasites!
