It finally happened, I had to pull.

I know you are a secret jennings lover, you're among friends you can admit it.

Lol, those little "Ring of Fire" pistols (Jennings, Jiminez, Raven, etc) have their place. If that's all that you can afford, it's better than nothing. I have experience with two, and they both run flawlessly. (Though, one is picky about ammo...) Also, they are very cost effective to collect.
That said, I wouldn't get them in anything larger than .22 or .25. I don't trust the pot metal to hold up to the larger calibers.
I can afford better, so I'll carry better, but I'm not shy about my appreciation for the little things.

I carried a Jennings in .22 LR as my summer time back up pistol for about 3 years back in the early 80's.
Loaded up, in the left shirt pocket right behind that heavy piece of plastic that kept the pocket's shape with the badge pinned to it. A spare magazine was in my right uniform shirt pocket.
That little pistol worked great. No malfunctions. I couldn't "put on it somebody's eye" with it past 5 or 6 feet, but I could hit someone in the face with it out to 10 yds. (as good as my full sized M&Ps were).

You can find a good used 25 auto for under $50, if you're looking for one.
As H mentioned, no shame, something is better than nothing. I would rather drive a Gremlin to work than ride the bus... but when you can afford a 458 italia, you are more likely to buy a new Mustang as a commuter car than a 50 year old roller skate.
