Hello,

My wife and I are moving to the Salem/Roanoke area from North West Indiana. I'm originally from South Georgia and lived all over the south east over the last 20 years before moving northward.

I'm more of an outdoors person so looking forward to the area more for that than anything. Also looking to no neighbors complaining about coal smoke from the forge

Welcome to Virginia, and welcome to the forum. Activity has died off, in recent years, but a few of us still drop in to see what's happening.

That forge sounds interesting; I've been thinking about putting one in my own backyard, when I reach a point when I'll actually be home to use it.

No worries. Facebook hit a lot of places hard but I still prefer the forums.

I mostly use gas now. I have kids so it heats up faster and I don't have to worry about the police showing up for someone complaining about "pollution".

Hope to find a place with a workshop so the wife will stop fussing about not having a garage.

Left to me by my father. He was into cowboy action shooting. Another family member pawned some of his items without our knowledge so not all made it to me. Rant for another day.
