Well, this stinks... You can get a PA Non-Res permit.

*Virginia concealed carry licenses will no longer be recognized by Pennsylvania after the reciprocity agreement terminates on May 16, 2018.

All the more reason why we NEED National Reciprocity.

That fact that it's legal to protect oneself in some states, & not others is absurd. :bangin:

Isn't 2A/10A national reciprocity? Why the hell are the individual states allowed to trample on a natural right codified in the Constitution?

Oh yeah, that's right, the freaking Prog's are in charge and no one else has the balls to challenge these a-holes.

And people ask, "Don't they get it?" Yeah, they get it, they just ignore it.

100% agree. The problem is that guys like me, who have a backbone and want to speak up for the people, can't ever get elected because we have a "sorted past"... which means 35 years ago I said a naughty word that hurt a Libs feelings.

How the heck are we supposed to push through this crap? In today's world, Mother Teresa would be a racist who hoarded food, money, associated with prostitutes and drug users and would be totally unelectable.

Marc, the average voter does not care about your sordid past.

The trick is to not hide, or try to cover up that sort of thing. If something gets brought up, act as if it's already public knowledge. Everyone has said things and done things that are regrettable.

Besides, Donald Trump recently got elected President; a man known for crude speech, for being unfaithful to his wives, and for owning houses of gambling. A man who apologized for NOTHING on his campaign trail, regardless of what was thrown at him.

Dennis Hof is currently seeking office, as a Republican, in Nevada. This came to my attention because of the billboard, advertising his campaign, that he erected over one of his whorehouses. This is a guy who openly admits to only dating and marrying hookers. And, you know, he runs whorehouses.

The modern voter seems to like to know who they are for. They don't seem care about personal flaws; all humans have personal flaws. They just need to believe that a candidate is really who they present themselves to be, and that they can place their priorities in that candidates hands.

Donald Trump got support from the Evangelical community, not because the Evangelical community thought that he was one of them, but because they believe that he will let them be them. Trump is inclined to let Christians be Christians, so Trump got the endorsement.

Basically, present yourself as you, convince the voter that you'll leave them alone, and you'll have a good chance of winning. And, if Trumps campaign is indicative of voters feelings, find a taboo topic that everyone cares about and is afraid to talk about, and make it the base of your platform.

Speaking truth and open-minded is beating any past things.
And to be called racist these days is a badge of honor; this means they know they can't beat you and what they have left is only invective.

Yeah, Fubar; my parents were disappointed. There's a couple of places they wanted to take their RV, up there. Now, they have to figure out how to legally carry in PA.

They have plenty of other places to go, in the meantime, though. They'll just head to more gun friendly areas.

Yeah Marc, what they said. No one gives a rip about your past. After Trump, nothing matters. Like kelu said, if that's all they have to say about you it's invective. In other words you've beaten them on the issues and they know it! I'm sure you've recognized that the left are nothing but muckrakers. They don't discuss issues because they can't win on the issues. Don't back away from it, and like SHMIV said, "act like it's public knowledge." So what. Next question.

As already stated, your problem getting elected wont be your past Marc. It's the liberal sea you're swimming in. Those who in the past wore the free speech ribbon with pride, now hide in safe spaces lobbing insults at, & attempt to censor anyone who disagrees with them. Truth, or fairness isn't what they seek.

It would be impressive to get elected in NOVA. I hope you do.

Less than two weeks ago I sent an application to the Adams County Pennsylvania (Gettysburg is the county seat) Sheriff's office for a non-resident carry permit. Within three days they had contacted my references and today I received my approval letter in the mail. I have to appear within 30 days to be photographed and sign my license. The fee is $20. Kudos to Adams County for their promptness.

I wouldn't hold my breath on that one. Maybe if a minority community burns their city down and starts looting and rioting... but they don't care about peer pressure or the will of law abiding constituents or their neighbors.

So, I just got around to sending my permit application in to Adams County. Hopefully they are not getting overloaded with apps. I have a lot of PA travel coming up over the next 2 months; my first trip in just 2 weeks. It would be nice to have this permit approved by the time I need to go.
