Tyranny = 2018 VA Senate Bill SB1

Post by MarcSpaz »

For anyone who is confused about what tyranny looks like, read Virginia Senate bill SB1 of 2018. That's right, the very first bill of this year is one that drafts the outlawing of certain firearm accessories. This does nothing to prevent crime, and only infringes on Personal Property Rights and Second Amendment Rights.

It prohibits the manufacture, import, sale or offer to sell, possession, transfer, or transportation of any device used to increase the rate of fire of any semi-automatic firearm beyond the capability of an unaided person to operate the trigger mechanism of that firearm.

Guess what... I can bump-fire any semiautomatic rifle FASTER without a trigger modification or bumpfire stock than using one. And, I can repeatedly prove it with a shot timer. What are they going to do, put me in prison because I have an index finger and know how to ride a trigger reset?

I vote we use Jerry Mickulik as the standard for how fast a person can pull the trigger.

I've seen video of him running 0.100 splits, so that is 10 rounds per second, or 600 RPM. but that is aimed fire, if he's just pulling, he can go faster yet.

I think I can exist under that limit.

bad math there, and the post is old enough I can't edit... should be 600 RPM. Next time more caffeine before using the internet.

It did not appear that any of the bills passed on yesterday.

Correct. I was thinking I needed to update this. The bill mentioned here was stopped on a 4 to 2 vote.

I was thrilled to hear Del. Wright say “Regardless of what laws we pass, until the evil in men’s hearts change, it’s not going to solve the problem.” Its nice to see we have people who "gets it" in office and holding the line.

Another win for freedom!
