Whoa, Whoa, Whoa... nobody said anything about trying to solve a violence problem... that guy is looking at it through the wrong prism. Our government doesn't want to reduce crime. Our government wants CONTROL and an armed people can't be controlled.
What firearms bans do is create more victims. The less educated, less self-reliant, and less able to fend for yourself, the more control the government has over you because the more you will "rely on the government".
We are having the wrong debate.
