Looking for Lead: G17 Slide

Hey guys and gals... I am scratching my head on this one. Wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction.

I have a Gen 4 Glock 17 in 9mm. I am looking to buy a new factory slide. During my searches, I am finding used slides for $350 and new slides for $450. The problem is, I only paid $450 for the darn gun... brand new! Why on earth would I buy a slide for the same price as the whole gun?

Any chance any of you know of a reliable source where I can buy a slide for a more reasonable price?

Nature of the beast, just like just about anything else. I've always heard the saying "If you're lucky enough to wear out a gun just go buy another gun".

May I ask why you're looking for a new slide?


BTW I searched too and my google fu came up the same as you, much as I suspected it would.

I want to have a second slide dedicated to having a HWS mounted to it. I don't want a mount that I have to push the rear sight in and out when I want to switch between the two and I don't want to run a slide with a big notch missing out of it when the red dot isn't installed. I figure one slide with the HWS and one with iron sights would be a nice, easy swap.

As an option check out Agency Arms. They customize slides. All slides get an RMR cut and a battle plate to cover the cut out if you choose to remove the RMR. http://agencyarms.com/complete-build
