I told you before: we don't love them, quite contrary, but we respect them as a formidable force.

And the Russian kids look to be in good physical shape, while the bratty American bitch is overweight. Probably too many cupcakes.

What's Russian for "I have your safe space, right here!"
Millennials drive me nuts. Sadly, some Gen X'ers too. The boomers who are Dem, I can't really complain too much. They came up in a time when the Democrat party was more conservative than Republicans are today. Most of the ones I know still think the party can be saved.

Wow. That second video was absurd.
The Russian kids; they seemed to have assembly and disassembly down, but I would have been more impressed had they fired a round at the completion of the assembly, to show that it was correctly reassembled.
On the whole, though, it's rather strange that I feel more repect towards the Russian kids than the American kids. I also respect the Russian leader far more than I respect the current American President.
What strange times we live in, when Russia looks better than the US.

According to an exhaustive report by political scientists Roberto Stefan Foa and Yascha Mounk in the Journal of Democracy, young people today are considerably more authoritarian and antidemocratic by attitude and temperament than any other generational cohort, especially baby boomers. Only 30 percent think that it’s “essential” to live in a country with a democratic system of government, and a terrifying 24 percent actually think that a democratic system of government is a bad thing. Only 32 percent of millennials think that it’s “absolutely essential” that “civil rights protect people’s liberty.” According to a Pew Research Center report, 40 percent of millennials want the government to ban “offensive” speech.

So, from an anecdotal evidence prospective, my own son and daughter are the only politically conservative Millennials I know personally. So, the info noted above does not surprise me.Ironbear wrote:http://www.city-journal.org/html/childr ... 14786.html

I don't see a lot of it directly. Our "Millennial" circles are primarily home schoolers, some 2nd generation. The home school crowd tends to take a dim view of authoritarians trying to shove propaganda up their curriculum, and are pretty prickly about their rights.MarcSpaz wrote:So, from an anecdotal evidence prospective, my own son and daughter are the only politically conservative Millennials I know personally. I don't see much at work either. Most of our millennials are software and other engineers, many with advanced degrees. Not an environment kind to cluelessness! Engineers, as a rule, are rather gadget oriented, and while the most prevalent hobby around me is R/C airplanes, guns seems to run a close second.
Education oriented folks have been commenting on the war-on-boys, in schools, for years. That it should turn up in college is no surprise.kelu wrote:Just speechless. Worried for the future of this country.

Some little hope message. At my daughter middle school they held mock elections and Trump won. By a small margin, but still...
